In support of its beneficiaries, including needy families, orphans, and people with special needs, and to provide them with additional relief during the holy month of Ramadan, Qatar Charity continues to distribute their entitlements in Morocco through the provision of vouchers that can be used to purchase food and other essential supplies. Alternatively, food baskets containing these items are also being distributed. The number of beneficiaries expected to receive assistance from this project is approximately 4,250 individuals.
Vouchers and Food Baskets
This initiative, launched alongside seasonal projects under Qatar Charity’s "Giving Lives On" campaign, aims to promote social solidarity, meet the basic needs of the beneficiaries, and alleviate their living burdens. Vouchers have been distributed to the beneficiaries in cities with stores approved by Qatar Charity, allowing recipients to choose the most suitable food products for their needs. In areas distant from these approved stores, food baskets are being distributed to ensure that support reaches everyone.
Touching Stories of Joy
During the distribution process, one particularly emotional moment occurred when Fatima, a widow supporting four orphans, was overwhelmed with joy. Tears streamed down her face as a sign of her deep gratitude for the timely assistance during the blessed month of Ramadan. She expressed her thanks to the generous sponsors who made this support possible. Similarly, Umm Ismail, the mother of an orphan supported by Qatar Charity, whose child is studying in elementary school, expressed her happiness with the generous support, as it allowed her to provide food for her orphaned children during this challenging period, especially given the rising cost of living.
Among the heartwarming stories witnessed by Qatar Charity’s team during the voucher distribution was that of Souhaila, a mother of three orphaned daughters: Fawzia (6 years), Raghda (9 years), and Danya (13 years). The children accompanied their mother to receive their vouchers. Little Fawzia was overjoyed and insisted on doing the shopping herself, eagerly declaring that she would choose all her favorite food items— a moment that perfectly reflected the joy this initiative brought to the orphans' hearts.
It’s worth noting that through its "Rofaqaa" initiative, Qatar Charity currently sponsors 4,303 individuals, including orphans, needy families, and people with special needs, providing them with comprehensive care through various forms of assistance and programs.
