Qatar Charity signs three agreements to implement projects in Kosovo
Qatar Charity (QC) signed three agreements to implement qualitative projects and provide social assistance in Kosovo. The projects include building mosques, digging wells, and supporting poor families.
The agreements were signed in the presence of HE Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Albania and Kosovo, Mr. Ilir Kapiti, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Labor, and Sheikh Naim Ternava, the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Kosovo, Naim Ismajli, mayor of the Municipality of Štimlje, and Mr. Nawaf al-Hammadi, CEO's assistant for International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity
Mr. Nawaf Al-Hammadi signed the first agreement with the General Islamic Sheikhdom in Kosovo to build a mosque at a cost of QR 2,500,000. The mosque is expected to accommodate 1,000 worshipers. He also inked the second pact wroth over QR 2 million with KESCO to pay the electricity bills of 866 poor families for a whole year. He also signed the third agreement with the Municipality of Štimlje to dig 38 water wells.
HE Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Albania and Kosovo emphasized the distinguished relations between Qatar and Kosovo. His Excellency added that we in the State of Qatar attach importance to strengthening relations with the Republic of Kosovo in various fields, indicating that singing these agreements is a gift from the people of Qatar to our brothers in Kosovo through Qatar Charity.
His Excellency noted the support provided by the State of Qatar to the Republic of Kosovo over the years in various sectors such as health, education, housing and relief, hoping for continued cooperation between the two countries.
The Deputy Minister of Finance and Labor, Ilir Kapiti, thanked the State of Qatar for its effective humanitarian contributions in Kosovo, wishing the continuation of this cooperation in the future.
Mr. Nawaf al-Hammadi CEO's assistant for International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity conveyed the greetings of the people in Qatar to the people in Kosovo. “We at Qatar Charity are happy with this partnership spanning over more than 21 years in Kosovo,” said al-Hammadi, indicating that singing these agreements is an extension of Qatar Charity’s work and duty for the people in Kosovo.
Sheikh Naim Ternava, the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Kosovo praised the constructive cooperation between Qatar Charity and the Islamic Sheikhdom, especially in implementing mosque projects. He said that the construction of this mosque will improve the life and infrastructure in this part of the municipality of Ferizaj. He also expressed his gratitude to the Qatari people and government, in addition to thanking Qatar Charity.
Naim Ismajli, mayor of the Municipality of Štimlje who signed the well drilling agreement, praised the State of Qatar for extending a helping hand to the people in Kosovo, applauding the role of Qatar Charity in implementing projects. He said that this agreement came in a timely manner, especially we are at the beginning of the summer season, when the level of water goes very low in the villages of the municipality. He indicated that by implementing this well project, the water problem will be solved for many poor families.
