Qatar Charity has put an end to the suffering of thousands of women and children in northern Ghana who had to travel long distances to receive medical care. Thanks to the generous support from the people of Qatar, it has established a new, specialized health center offering essential medical services. This initiative is part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts in West Africa.

The new health center, built on an area of 375 square meters, includes dedicated wings for women, children, and men. It features a maternity ward, a fully equipped laboratory, a pharmacy, consultation rooms, as well as isolation and medical examination areas. Additionally, it has a waiting area, and a specialized dental section equipped with the latest tools.

High-Quality Healthcare

The center’s inauguration in the "Gombihini-Tamale" area was attended by several executive, parliamentary, community, and religious leaders, all of whom expressed their happiness with the medical services the center provides to the community and their appreciation for Qatar Charity’s continued efforts to support and enhance the healthcare sector in Ghana.

Mr. Idrissu Abdul Jabaro, the chief of the “Gombihini” area, expressed during the opening ceremony that the establishment of the health center by Qatar Charity marks a new chapter in the development of their community, as it provides a solution to the health challenges they have faced for a long time. He added: "For a long time, many of our people had to travel long distances to get medical care, often resulting in delays that could mean the difference between life and death. Today, with this clinic in our community, we can access timely and high-quality healthcare services."

Enhancing Maternal and Child Health

Meanwhile, Dr. Sido Brekisu Abu Bakr, Director of Health for the "Central Tamale" area, stated that the clinic established by Qatar Charity would address many issues, including the long travel distances to receive medical care and the pressure on existing healthcare facilities. She said that they are now better equipped to provide essential services such as maternal and child health, disease prevention, and emergency care.

Dr. Sido expressed her appreciation for Qatar Charity’s efforts in setting up the health center and promised that it would be operated with skilled staff to provide the highest standards of healthcare. She added: "Let us use this achievement as an inspiration for all of us to continue working together for a healthier and more prosperous future for our community."

Generous Support and Lasting Impact

On his part, Ibrahim Muntala Mohammed, a Member of Parliament for the "Central Tamale" area, stated that Qatar Charity’s investment in the community and its generous support in establishing health centers and providing medical services will have a lasting impact. Now, families can access basic healthcare services at the center without having to travel long distances, as was the case before Qatar Charity’s intervention and the support of the good people of Qatar, for whom we pray for blessings and great rewards.
