Ruling on using the money of charities then returning it

I collect money from the people for the foundation in which I work to spend on students in the requirements of education. Currently, we are not using this money as it is saved until we need it. Is it permissible for me to use it then return it?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad , is His Slave and Messenger.

It is impermissible for you to use this money because it is a trust with you. Using it – even if you return it afterwards – constitutes betrayal of this trust. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {O you who have believed, do not betray Allaah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence].} [Quran 8:27] Imaam Ahmad narrated that Anas ibn Maalik may Allaah be pleased with him said: “The Messenger of Allaah , never delivered a sermon to us without saying: ‘The one who does not observe trusts has no faith and the one who does not keep promises has no religiously commitment.’

Allaah Knows best.
