Paying Zakah al-Fitr in Japan

About Zakah al-Fitr, I live in Japan now for study. I want to pay my Zakah this year to someone in Egypt, my home country. What is the amount of money should I pay. Since they pay in Egypt about 5 pounds and the Islamic Center here in Tokyo said about 1500 Yen, about 52 pounds, but I will pay it In Egypt not in Japan?

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
The majority of the Muslim scholars are agreed that the Fitr Zakah should be dispatched in the country where someone is actually staying.
So, whoever was in a country at the sunset of the feast day (Fitr) he has to give Zakah al-Fitr and in that country. It is unlawful to send Zakah al-Fitr from one place to another one unless there are no needy or poor people in the place where it was actually due or unless there is a more preponderant interest in sending it such as severe poverty or dire necessity in the place where it is to be sent.
So, since it is lawful for you to give Zakah in your home country, you can then commission someone to buy a Sa'a (2 ½ K.g.) of the food of the people of the country, rice, wheat, etc. Giving Zakah from food products is the opinion of the majority of the scholars (Malik, Shafi, Ahmad) and it is the preponderant opinion. But if you stick to giving money, as is the Hanafi school opinion, you should give based on the amount calculated for the country where you are right now, i.e. Japan. So, 1500 Yen (as you mentioned in your question) is the amount you should use.

Allah knows best.
