About the campaign

Zakat is the ultimate charity in Islam. It takes more than one form, yet all is engulfed to one purpose; helping the poor. When the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, and before Eid Al Fitr prayer, every Muslim who possesses enough food in excess of his need and of his family (approximately 2.6 – 3 kg of staple food), he/she must give Zakat Al Fitr. Qatar Charity assists Muslims in paying their Zakat, and give it to Muslims in dire need.

At the end of the holy month of Ramadan, every Muslim is required to give Zakat Al Fitr. If the person is a breadwinner, he must pay Zakat Al Fitr on behalf of his dependents as well, such as children, wife, and direct relatives. Zakat Al Fitr can be given either as staple food, or money.
