Qatar Charity (QC) laid the foundation stone for two major health projects that include a health center in the Gjilan municipality and an emergency center in the Podujeve municipality in Kosovo.
The foundation stone laying ceremony for the QAR 10-million projects was attended by high-level government officials, the Qatari ambassador, and the officials of Qatar Charity.
At the ceremony, HE non-resident Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Kosovo Ali bin Hamad Al Marri underlined Qatar’s keenness to deepen constructive cooperation between the two countries. “We will work hard to continue supporting, especially Qatar Charity's distinguished projects for the benefit of those most in need and the people in Kosovo,” said the Qatar ambassador.
Mr. Nawaf Al Hammadi, CEO’s assistant for the International Operations and Development sector at Qatar Charity, indicated that the health centers are a gift from the people of Qatar for the people of Kosovo, and the donors of Qatar will continue to extend a helping hand to the people of Kosovo. He added that Qatar Charity will continue to contribute to meeting the needs of the people in Kosovo in cooperation with the organization of Kosovo.
Health Center in Gjilan
In the Gjilan Municipality, the foundation stone was laid for a QAR 2-million health center in the presence of the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, HE non-resident Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Kosovo Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, the mayor of Gilan Alban Hyseni, and Mr. Nawaf Al Hammadi, CEO’s assistant for the International Operations and Development sector at Qatar Charity.
The 370 square-meter center consists of a family medicine clinic, an ultrasound section, a dental clinic, a laboratory, s pharmacy, a training hall, and other facilities.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti commended Qatar’s efforts in supporting the people of Kosovo, emphasizing the constructive role of Qatar Charity in implementing qualitative projects that contribute to developing the capabilities of the people in the country. He also called for continued support for other qualitative projects in all regions of Kosovo.
The Mayor of Gilan Alban Hyseni thanked Qatar Charity for its distinctive role in supporting those most in need, especially in the field of health, education, and social housing. He added that the health center project is one of the qualitative projects in the Gilan Municipality, which will improve health services in the municipality.
Emergency Health Center in Podujeve
Besides, the foundation stone was laid for a QAR 8-million emergency health center in the Podujeve Municipality in the presence of the Minister of Health Dafina Bunjaku, HE non-resident Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Kosovo Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, the Mayor of Podujeve Shpetejtim Bulliqi, and Mr. Nawaf Al Hammadi, CEO’s assistant for the International Operations and Development sector at Qatar Charity.
Kosovo’s Minister of Health thanked Qatar for supporting the people of Kosovo, especially in the field of health, expressing her happiness with this project, which will improve health services in the region. She also emphasized the constructive role of Qatar Charity in implementing qualitative health projects to serve the people of her country.
The Mayor of Podujeve Shpetejtim Bulliqi thanked Qatar Charity for supporting those most in need, especially in the field of health, economic empowerment, and water, adding that the emergency health center, which is being built in a strategic location, is one of the qualitative projects in Podujeve.
