Center facilities
The center, which was inaugurated, is considered one of the most important Islamic centers in Okene, Nigeria. It includes a mosque, a school for teaching and memorizing the Holy Qur’an, a library, a water well, and a washroom for the dead, adding places of ablution, umbrellas, air conditioners, and furniture. It is expected that the number of beneficiaries will reach about 2,300 people thanks to the expansion works.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prince Malik Ado Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Okini Emirate, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, King of Okini District, Kogi State, Delegate of Kogi State Governor Yahya Adosa Bello, Sultan of Sokoto Haji Muhammad Saad Abu Bakr Sultan of Muslims, and Professor Abdullah Alokini from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria As for remotely, the Qatari philanthropist who donated in building and expanding the center participated in the inauguration process (from Qatar Charity’s headquarters in Doha via Zoom platform), Mr. Ahmed Yousef Fakhroo, Assistant CEO of the Media and Resources Development Sector at Qatar Charity, and Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Hajji Director of International Programs and Development Department, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shirawi, Director of Customer Service Department, and Mr. Khaled Al-Yafei, Director of Emergency and Relief Department at Qatar Charity
The center provides a comfortable environment for the people of the region in which it is located, allowing them to perform congregational prayers and hold religious awareness lectures. It also helps, through the Qur’an teaching school, to teach children and young adults the Book of God and the provisions of its recitation in attractive ways. Graduate-qualified memorizers, considering the differences and allowing people with disabilities to learn, make the center a beacon of faith and education in the region.
In addition to the deep well, the center has a tank with a capacity of 15,000 liters, and it has been connected to the neighborhood for the benefit of the residents surrounding the center.
