HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan Mohamed bin Ibrahim Al Sada said that food aid will be distributed to those affected in Port Sudan, a city in Sudan.  He noted the increasing number of stranded people in Port Sudan, where their number reached more than 16,000, who are from different nationalities. He indicated that Qatar Charity has already started distributing food aid in Khartoum and Port Sudan since Ramadan before the beginning of the airlift.

Mr. Khalid Abdulla AlyafeiDirector of Emergency and Relief at Qatar Charity, revealed that the first flight, as part of the airlift, carried 40 tons of basic food aid that includes dates, rice, sugar and oils. He indicated that 150 tons of food aid are expected to be delivered in the coming days, in addition to implementing other projects like providing ready-to-eat meals and medical consumables for the affected hospitals.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity, despite the difficult situation in Khartoum, distributed relief aid, targeting hospitals, which were among the most affected sectors.
