Qatar Charity delegation inaugurates significant development projects in Kyrgyzstan

The projects include a mosque and two multi-service centers equipped with comprehensive facilities.

 

Doha, Qatar – August 24, 2024

A delegation from Qatar Charity (QC) inaugurated several significant development projects in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. The delegation was led by the CEO's Assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector, Mr. Nawaf AlHammadi. The event was attended by the Qatari Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, HE Ali Jaber AlMarri, the supervisor of Qatar Charity’s office in Bishkek, Mr. Abdul Nasser Al-Fakhroo, and several government officials of Kyrgyzstan. The visit also included inspections of completed and ongoing projects, as well as a meeting with First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The projects, inaugurated with the support of benefactors, included the Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani Mosque in Kara-Balta, a city in the Chuy Province, the Ahl Qatar Project (a multi-service complex) in the Tong district of the Issyk-Kul Province, and the Al Rayyan Charity Center (a multi-service complex) in the Kochkor district of the Naryn Province.

Meeting with First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers

During the visit, the CEO's Assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity Mr. Nawaf AlHammadi, met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev. The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of humanitarian aid and the implementation of social projects in the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers, both parties agreed to continue collaboration and exchange experiences in the field of charitable work and social responsibility.

Inauguration of a Grand Mosque

On the first day of the visit, the Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani Mosque, the fifth-largest mosque in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, was inaugurated. It was built with a generous donation by Sheikh Faisal bin Khalifa bin Ali Al Thani. The mosque holds special significance as it is situated in a densely populated city and is close to large markets. It is estimated that at least 1,000 people will visit it daily.

The mosque can accommodate approximately 2,000 people and consists of three floors, which include a prayer hall, a women’s prayer area, a Quran memorization center, toilets, and ablution facilities.

At the beginning of the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Mufti of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Atabaaev Samidin, welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude to the donors from Qatar and to Qatar Charity. He hoped for continued collaboration to establish similar projects that serve the local community and strengthen the connection of Kyrgyz people with their faith.

In a speech, the Qatari Ambassador, HE Ali Jaber AlMarri, thanked the donors and Qatar Charity, encouraging the continuation of these noble efforts, which aim to strengthen the relations between the Qatari and Kyrgyz peoples.

At the ceremony, the CEO's Assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity, Mr. Nawaf AlHammadi highlighted Qatar Charity's ongoing efforts to implement development projects in Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized the commitment to continued cooperation and coordination with relevant government authorities to make a difference in the lives of beneficiaries in needy areas and to strengthen bonds with the Kyrgyz people.

The organizers of the ceremony honored HE Ambassador Ali Jaber AlMarri and Mr. Nawaf AlHammadi. At the end of the event, attendees and guests toured the mosque’s facilities.

 Inspection Visit to the Large Hospital

On the same day, a visit was paid to some of the families of the orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity, in addition to an inspection visit to the large hospital under construction in Bishkek. The hospital will consist of four floors, with Qatar Charity contributing to the building costs, which amount to approximately 5 million Qatari Riyals.

Multi-Service Complex

On the second day of the visit, the Ahl Qatar Multi-Service Complex was inaugurated in the Tong District of the Issyk-Kul Province. The complex includes a mosque (with a capacity of 360 worshippers), a kindergarten, a school (with several classrooms, a library, a teachers' room, and an administration office, with a capacity of 175 students), an orphanage (that includes a dormitory, an activity room, a kitchen, a dining area, and supervision rooms, with a capacity for 75 orphans), and a clinic (with 5 medical examination rooms, a laboratory, and administrative offices). The inauguration ceremony was attended by many high-level Kyrgyz dignitaries and Qatar Charity officials.

In his speech during the inauguration of the project, the Mayor of Issyk-Kul Municipality Ulahol Ulan Omarbekov emphasized the importance of the project for the education of future generations. He highlighted the municipality's commitment to caring for and maintaining the project. He expressed Issyk-Kul Municipality's readiness to cooperate with Qatar Charity in implementing further development projects to serve the region.

On this occasion, the supervisor of Qatar Charity’s office in Bishkek, Abdul Nasser Al-Fakhroo, praised the cooperation of government and local authorities with Qatar Charity. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of sustaining the project for the benefit of the local population and highlighted the role of education in the development of the targeted communities.

Charity Center

On the third day of the visit, the delegation inaugurated the Al Rayyan Charity Center in a village in the Naryn Province. This is a multi-service center, which was opened in the presence of HE Ali Jaber AlMarri, Qatari Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Ms. Lolwa Abdulrahman Fahad Almudahka, Second Secretary at the embassy, Mr. Nawaf AlHammadi, and Mr. Abdul Nasser Al-Fakhroo, in addition to many high-level Kyrgyz dignitaries

The Al Rayyan Charity Center, a multi-service complex, consists of a mosque (with a capacity of 840 worshippers), a school (with 10 classrooms and administrative buildings, with a capacity of 180 students), a kindergarten (for 44 children), a health center (including medical examination rooms, a maternity and reproductive health clinic, treatment and vaccination clinics, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and a waiting hall, to provides basic health services to approximately 10,000 people), social housing for the families of orphans (30 apartments), an artesian well (with an electric pump and water tank), a sewing workshop (to train mothers in sewing and economically empower them through this profession), and a restaurant as an endowment for the complex.

At the beginning of the inauguration ceremony, the First Deputy Head of the Naryn Province, Mr. Adil Soltojevic, welcomed the guests and attendees, expressing his hope for continued cooperation among the entities that contributed to the completion of this project. Following this, the Governor of Kochkor District, Mr. Kamil Eliaskarovich, stated that this project addresses the real needs of the local citizens, including education, healthcare, places of worship, and opportunities for training in sewing to economically empower families, in addition to providing suitable housing for some needy families. He pledged that the local government authorities and the citizens would remain committed to maintaining this significant facility.

The Qatari Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan expressed his joy in participating in the inauguration of this significant project, thanking the benefactors in Qatar and Qatar Charity for supporting and implementing such projects. He also extended his gratitude to the government entities that facilitate charitable work and the completion of development projects. In his remarks during the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nawaf AlHammadi stated that this day would be remembered in this village as it contributes to providing essential services in various areas. He expressed his hope that this project would be a starting point for providing all necessary services in this village.

At the end of the ceremony, certificates of house handover were distributed to the beneficiaries, and the guests of the inauguration ceremony took a tour of the complex's facilities. Following this, the delegation visited a nearby hospital, which was also implemented by Qatar Charity in 2020.
