Continuing the charitable efforts of the people of Qatar, field teams from Qatar Charity in Sudan distributed Ramadan food baskets to the mothers of orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity in Sheikhha Aisha bint Hamad Al-Attiya City, "Rafaqa," in the River Nile State. This distribution is part of the larger "Giving Lives On" campaign, which is being carried out across 40 countries worldwide.
Dr. Tahani Mirghani, the Minister of Social Affairs for River Nile State, expressed her deep appreciation for the generous support provided by the people of Qatar for the Iftar project run by Qatar Charity. This initiative delivers essential food supplies to assist those fasting during Ramadan. The project focuses on supporting vulnerable families, orphans, and widows.
The Minister also conveyed her gratitude to the State of Qatar, its leadership, and its people, as well as to the donors who made these Ramadan projects possible. She highlighted Qatar Charity's proactive role in aiding families affected by the war, offering support in the form of food, shelter, and health supplies.
Mohamed Ahmed Hamdo, the Executive Director of the Damer Locality, noted that Qatar Charity has made significant contributions, providing high-quality support to families in need, especially during these challenging times. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the well-being of vulnerable communities.
The Iftar project, which Qatar Charity has been running in Sudan for nearly three decades, aims to distribute Ramadan food baskets to 14,280 beneficiaries this season. This includes families of sponsored and unsponsored orphans, displaced families, and others in need due to the ongoing conflict. Today's distribution benefited mothers of orphans in Sheikhha Aisha bint Hamad Al-Attiya City, located in the Damer area of River Nile State.
Several mothers of orphans in Sheikhha Aisha City, which serves as a living testament to the enduring legacy of the people of Qatar in caring for orphans and their families, expressed their sincere gratitude for the Ramadan food baskets. These baskets, which contain essential items for every Sudanese family during Ramadan, are especially appreciated given the difficult economic conditions that make access to food increasingly challenging for many disadvantaged families.
Huda Al-Amin, a mother of orphans in Sheikhha Aisha City, shared that the food basket she received contained all the necessary items and arrived at a crucial time. She concluded by saying, "We pray that Allah rewards the generous donors from Qatar for their kindness."
