Qatar Charity (QC) organized an Umrah trip for 28 Syrian orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity in southern Turkey, along with their mothers affected by earthquake that struck the region. This trip is part of Qatar Charity’s ongoing Umrah program for orphans from many countries of the world. This comes within the framework of Qatar Charity’s continued efforts to provide comprehensive care and support to the sponsored orphans globally.

The delegation includes, in addition to the orphans and their mothers, supervisors and a psychologist to provide the necessary psychological support through various activities.

In addition to performing Umrah and visiting Masjid al-Haram (the Grand Mosque) and Al Masjid an Nabawi (the Prophet's Mosque), the trip program included various activities such as psychological support sessions for the orphans and mothers and competitions.

The orphans visited some other Islamic landmarks in Mecca, such as the Kaaba Kiswa Factory, where they were informed about the history of the Kaaba’s covering since the time of the Prophet, until the present day, and how the renewal of the covering is carried out annually.

They also visited the Revelation Exhibition, where they learned about the history of revelation and prophethood, how revelation was revealed to the Prophets Muhammad -Peace Be Upon Him-. They also paid a visit to a model resembling the cave of Hira.

The program of the visit also included a visit to some Islamic landmarks in Medina, most notably Mount Uhud, Salman Al-Farsi Well, Al-Qiblatain Mosque, and Quba Mosque, the first mosque of Islam.

Mr. Yousuf Abdullah Al-Khalifi, the Head of the Child Care Department at Qatar Charity, said, "Umrah trips are one of the programs of the ‘Rofaqa’ initiative, which seeks to provide comprehensive care for children and those under our sponsorship. Through this trip, we aim to provide psychological, spiritual, and educational support to the sponsored families who were affected by the earthquake in Turkey.
