In partnership with the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed medicines to 12 health facilities in the rural areas of Al Hudaydah and Hajjah governorates. This initiative is part of a project aimed at enhancing the health status of under-served populations of IDPs. Since in 2023, the project has benefitted 210,408 individuals.

The project aims to alleviate the suffering of IDPs and impoverished families in rural areas by providing them with medicines and medical services.

The project has contributed to providing medicines, training healthcare personnel, and enhancing health services by providing hospitals with modern medical equipment and supporting them with all necessary medical requirements. This effort has contributed to improving the quality of services, meeting the needs of the population, and providing essential vaccines and medicines.

The project has also provided doctors and supported healthcare workers by offering them financial incentives, which enabled them to work full-time instead of looking for other jobs to secure their families’ livelihoods.

This project, especially the distribution of medicines, has been warmly welcomed by the residents of the beneficiary districts. Abdullah Mohammed, one of the beneficiaries, said, "The health situation in our area is extremely poor, but thanks to the intervention of Qatar Charity and its partners, medicines are now available in health centers. We consider this project a solution for patients to alleviate their pain and suffering."

Anwar Ahmed Al-Haj stated, "Thanks to Qatar Charity's support, the health center in Bajil district has greatly improved. A maternity department has been established, laboratory supplies have been provided, and doctors and nurses are continuously available.

This project is an extension of previous initiatives carried out by Qatar Charity in partnership with the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF). It has implemented numerous health projects, including patient treatment and health awareness programs focused on the prevention of prevalent diseases like infectious and chronic diseases. Additionally, it has provided training for healthcare personnel in targeted areas to enhance their skills and improve the quality of the health services they provide.

Furthermore, first aid courses were offered to provide immediate and rapid response in emergency situations and deliver first aid to the injured and sick, in addition to courses on mental and psychological health to instill the necessary knowledge and skills in healthcare personnel. Moreover, the project included courses on the prevention of infectious diseases, training healthcare personnel on disease prevention and control, sterilization, vaccinations, and educating them about prevalent infectious diseases and how to manage them.

The project also provided courses on premature birth and breathing difficulties, as well as how to handle pregnant women in emergency situations to ensure both their safety and that of the fetus.
