Qatar Charity (QC), with the support of donors in Qatar, has inaugurated a multi-service center in the Willsi Bougou Area of the Koulikoro Region in Mali. The center comprises a school, a clinic, a mosque, and a solar-powered well, serving 1,500 beneficiaries. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mali's Minister of Family, Motherhood, Child, and Solidarity.

Spanning 487 square meters, the center is driving positive change by improving the quality of life, promoting sustainable development, and providing education and employment opportunities. Additionally, it focuses on enhancing health and empowering women economically.

Medical Services

The multi-service center’s school features three classrooms for 144 students (48 per classroom), equipped with desks, blackboards, administrative offices, and other essential facilities, designed to improve the quality of education.

The multi-service center’s clinic provides essential medical services. It includes rooms for childbirth, examinations, dressing changes, and reception, as well as a fully equipped pharmacy. Serving approximately 40 daily visitors, the clinic is outfitted with patient beds, medical equipment, and disease-prevention tools such as mosquito nets.

The center also houses a mosque for up to 240 worshippers and a sustainable deep well system with an overhead tank, solar panels, and an electric pump. Both provide a place of worship and a reliable source of clean drinking water.

Economic Empowerment

Supporting women's economic empowerment, the center provides space for producing and marketing products like soaps, oils, and cosmetics, alongside sewing and fabric dyeing workshops for women. This initiative benefits over 100 women, improving their living conditions and securing a stable income for their families.

During the inauguration, Ms. Keita Djenebou Sango, Mali's Minister of Family, Motherhood, Child, and Solidarity, stated that this project is more than a building; it is a platform for women and girls to develop their skills and earn a dignified living, symbolizing the strong cooperation between Mali and Qatar. She thanked the people of Qatar and Qatar Charity for their ongoing support of development projects in Mali.

Ms. Djènèba Samqi, representing the women beneficiaries, said, "This center was a dream for all of us. We thank Qatar Charity for making it happen, and we promise to use this opportunity to build a better future for our families."
