ExxonMobil and QC Reinforce Community Cooperation

A delegation from QC visited the headquarter of ExxonMobil-Qatar’s to thank the latter for cooperating in developing the local community and  for fostering an appealing environment that encouraged the participants of the Spring Activities to learn and innovate.

The delegation included: Mr. Ali Al Gharib, Centers Director in QC’s Local Development; Mr. Nayef Al-Rumaihi,Manager of Public Relations; Mr. Ahmed Saleh Al-Ali, Communications Manager; and Mr. HamedShehada, Head of the Community Responsibility Management at QC. The delegation was received by Mr. Saleh bin Saad Al-Mane’, Vice President and Director of Government and Public Relations; and Mr. Mohammed Hashem Al-Hashemi, Consultant of Government and Public Affairs in ExxonMobil-Qatar.

 

Spring Events

The visit is to conclude the events of the rich Spring Program for future leaders, which was held by QC and funded by ExxonMobil. The program included several scientific activities carried out in an innovative environment of learning, creativity, and fun. It targeted children aged 10-17 years. The events were held in the time period 24 January – 4 February.

At the beginning of the gathering, Mr. Ahmed Saleh Al-Aly said, “QC is proud to enter in a partnership with ExxonMobil that aims at serving the local community. QC, thus, thanks ExxonMobil for their efforts.” He stressed that many of the students who had participated in the activities, funded by ExxonMobil-Qatar, were very happy to obtain such a useful and informative opportunity.

"We’re delighted to have supported Qatar Charity in 2015 to realize the Education For Orphans program, held in collaboration with Qatar Scientific Club," said Saleh Al-Mana, Vice President and Director of Government and Public Affairs for ExxonMobil Qatar. “As a committed partner in Qatar, we’re proud to put our energy behind an organization that works diligently to meet the needs of the Qatari society. We place great emphasis on finding meaningful ways to contribute to Qatar’s thriving society, and our work with Qatar Charity is an example of how local establishments help us achieve this."

Mr. Ali Al Gharib said, “QC focuses in its local development programs on the 4 pillars mentioned in Qatar’s Vision-2030; economic, social, human, and environmental.” He also pointed that the summer activities planned by the centers' development Management for the future male and female leaders included education, entertainment, and sports. The activities were designed in such a way that would develop their skills and capabilities to shoulder the burdens of life in a religious frame.

Mr. Hamed Shehada thanked ExxonMobil for generously sponsoring QC’s programs, and for their full awareness of their social role and responsibility. He also commended their interest in programs with sustainable effects that would help the beneficiaries on the long term. These programs naturally inform the future leaders, and improve their skills and capacities. They also change their lives through offering workshops that teach them how to program games and fun applications in order to fast-track the talented participants and help them develop their skills.

At the end, Mr. Nayef Al Rumaihi granted Mr. Saleh Al Mane’ a Certificate of Appreciation as well as QC’s Memorial Shield.

Previous Cooperation

ExxonMobil previously sponsored QC’s program “Ramadan Village”, which was held at the Exhibition Center and included a heritage exhibition suitable for all family members. The program was very popular and was extensively visited by the Diplomatic Corps in addition to families and kids.
