A delegation from Qatar Charity, headed by Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Al-Hamra Health Center in the Mafraq Governorate and the Khalid Ibn Al-Walid Mosque in Karak Governorate, Jordan.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by the Jordanian Minister of Health Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, the State of Qatar's Ambassador to Jordan HE Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al -Thani, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Aqeel, Secretary General of the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places.
At the foundation stone laying ceremony of Al-Hamra Health Center, the State of Qatar's Ambassador to Jordan HE Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al -Thani, expressed his happiness with this project.
He added that Qatar Charity plays a key role in addressing humanitarian challenges and helping to achieve the sustainable development goals in light of the challenges the world is witnessing, most notably the influx of refugees into Jordan and other countries due to the Syrian crisis.
He noted that the projects worth 25 million Jordanian dinars that Qatar Charity implements include aid, shelter, food, health, education, and social projects, in addition to sponsoring 6,500 persons.
For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Health Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, said that this project confirms the depth of the relations between the two countries, Jordan and Qatar, and the keenness of Qatar to contribute to supporting the efforts of the Jordanian Ministry of Health in developing the infrastructure of its health centers, thus contributing to improving the quality of primary health care services provided in various governorates of Jordan.
He thanked Qatar Charity for providing this generous grant that made this project possible. He pointed out that this project is a glimmer of hope for cooperation between the Jordanian Ministry of Health and Qatar Charity, emphasizing the importance of the project as it is one of the important health centers in Mafraq governorate, which provide health services and maternity and childhood services to more than 15,000 citizens and over 5,000 Syrian refugees.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Khalid bin Al-Waleed Mosque in Karak Governorate, Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, said that the mosque plays a fundamental and essential role in promoting the values and principles that are based on the humanization of civilization and the call for the advancement of societies.
He indicated that Qatar Charity hopes to implement its interventions, under the current year plan, with a value of 13 million Jordanian dinars.
Dr. Abdullah Abu Nawas, Head of the Mosque Committee, praised Qatar Charity's initiative and its response to the reconstruction of this mosque, which serves a large area. He added that it is one of the old mosques in the area, underling the importance of its reconstruction due to the need of the population for a mosque in the area.
The 1870-square-meter Khaled bin Al-Walid Mosque will include a main prayer area for nearly 500 worshippers and a women prayer area for approximately 150 worshipers, in addition to an ablution area and a house for the Imam.
