success story
Taher Al-Haj Muhammad, from the city of Aleppo in Syria, was working in cosmetics and aromatic oils in Syria. However, due to the difficult circumstances caused by the Syrian crisis, he was forced to leave his country and search for new opportunities in Turkey. In 2018, he began working in Turkey and licensed his company in 2019.
Taher faced many challenges as a manager of a small new company in a new country, due to different laws and general business culture, but he never stopped looking for opportunities to develop his company and increase its success.
Meanwhile, Taher heard about the “Scale Up” project implemented by Qatar Charity in partnership with the Qatar Fund for Development and with technical support from the SPARK organization, as part of the Qatar Charity Economic Empowerment Program, which aims to expand the growth of small and medium enterprises in Turkey, and he provided comprehensive technical support to the participants.
Taher applied to participate in the project and was accepted as one of the 200 participating companies. Over a period of three months, he participated in intensive training courses including financial management, risk management, product marketing, and brand management.
But the most important thing that the project provided to Taher’s company was the guidance and support he received, as visits by trainers were organized to his workplace. They helped him overcome several obstacles and difficulties, and he was also able to improve his digital system to become more effective and secure.
In addition to training and guidance, Taher participated in a forum for businessmen organized by Qatar Charity at the end of the training, where he met several companies and investors, which helped him conclude several agreements with other companies in addition to exchanging knowledge and experiences.
Thanks to the technical support and training provided by the “Scale Up” project, Maxonal Cosmetics was able to expand its scope of work to cover many regions in Turkey and went beyond that to export its products to other countries such as Australia, England, Germany, and Egypt.
The company has succeeded in achieving the desired success and is determined to continue expansion and development in the future.
