Qatar Charity (QC) signed two memorandums of understanding (MoU) with the Office of the Mufti and the Ministry of Social Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children in the Zanzibar Government, Tanzania, to enhance cooperation in the fields of social welfare and community service.
The memorandum of understanding with the Office of the Mufti was signed by Sheikh Khamis Ghareeb Khamis, Executive Secretary of the Office of the Mufti, and Mr. Amjad Al Tahhan, Country Director of the Qatar Charity Tanzania Branch.
This memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in various fields, particularly concerning endowments, public lands, mosques, Quran memorization centers, and training institutes, to serve the community and achieve the objectives of both parties.
On the sidelines of the signing, Sheikh Khamis Ghareeb Khamis, expressed his happiness with the cooperation with Qatar Charity, extending his thanks to Qatar Charity for its ongoing efforts in serving the community.
Qatar Charity signed another memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Social Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children in the Zanzibar Government. Mr. Amjad Al Tahhan, Country Director of Qatar Charity’s Tanzania Branch, and Mrs. Abeida Rashid Abdallah, General Secretary of the ministry signed the MoU to collaborate on social welfare, surveys, sponsorships, and integrating vulnerable groups into Qatar Charity's Zanzibar initiatives.
Mrs. Obaida highlighted that the partnership with Qatar Charity is vital for helping the most vulnerable people in Zanzibar. She thanked Qatar Charity for its support and outlined that the collaboration will focus on two main areas, which include providing direct social assistance, such as Sponsoring Orphans and helping needy families, and working to improve the overall well-being of communities through economic development and other projects.
Mr. Amjad Al Tahhan emphasized Qatar Charity's dedication to working closely with Zanzibar Government to achieve sustainable development. He highlighted the importance of the signed MoU in fostering collaboration between local and international organizations. He also expressed gratitude to local partners in Zanzibar for their support. He concluded by stating that this partnership would lead to a better quality of life in Zanzibar.
It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity is actively working in Zanzibar, implementing numerous social and charitable projects and sponsoring over 500 individuals. The official authorization last November further empowers Qatar Charity to deliver sustainable development in the area.
