QC thanks supporters of its Ramadan campaign "Giving is the secret to happiness"

  • More than 2 million people benefited from QC’s Ramadan campaign projects in Qatar and 29 other countries around the world.
  • Al-Kuwari: The support of donors, partners and supporters contributed to the success of the campaign and increased the number of beneficiaries inside and outside Qatar.
  • Qatar Charity extended its sincere thanks to donors, benefactors, ministries, government bodies, institutions, business groups, media, sports clubs and youth and volunteer initiatives.

Qatar Charity (QC) expressed its thanks and gratitude to the institutions, companies and national entities that contributed to the success of its Ramadan campaign entitled “Giving is the secret to happiness” for the year 1439 AH/ 2018 by sponsoring its projects, co-operating, or providing facilities and support to implement them. The total number of beneficiaries reached more than two million people in and outside Qatar.

Partnerships and areas of cooperation as part of the campaign covered social figures, government and semi-government sector, private sector, and different entities, which made it easier for QC employees to perform their duties and fulfill their mission, and contributed to the success of the Ramadan Campaign.

Partners in Success

Yousif bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, said "We extend our heartiest thanks to all the supporters and sponsors of QC’s Ramadan campaign, including Qatari people and residents. This affirms their keenness to do good deeds, and their sincere desire to support the humanitarian work, which contributed to the success of the campaign, maximizing its outputs and increasing the number of beneficiaries inside and outside Qatar.

Al Kuwari called upon Allah, the Almighty to accept the good deeds of all those who supported and multiply their rewards.

Al-Kuwari also thanked HE Dr Issa Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Dhaimi, Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities for their great support for charitable work, which helped overcome all obstacles that may impede the success of QC’s Ramadan campaign entitled “Giving is the secret to happiness”.

Government Institutions

Qatar Charity has developed many co-operation partnerships with various government entities to provide, implement and support social and awareness projects during the holy month of Ramadan. In recognition of this, the charity expressed its thanks and gratitude to the following:

Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center (Fanar), Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar University, Qatar Airways, Hamad International Airport, Katara Cultural Village, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), Qatar Ports Management Company, Qatar Foundation for Elderly Care (IHSAN), in addition to the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs and Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities.

Media Organizations

In the field of media, Qatar Charity expressed thanks to Qatar News Agency, Al Jazeera, Qatar TV, Al Rayyan TV, Al Quran Al Kareem Radio,  Sout Al-Khaleej Radio, Qatar Radio (Arabic & English), Al Sharq Newspaper, Al Arab Newspaper, Al Raya Newspaper, Al Watan Newspaper, Lusail Newspaper, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed (The New Arab), Gulf Times, The Peninsula, Qatar Tribune for providing excellent media coverage of QC's Ramadan activities or for broadcasting a number of radio and television programmes produced by Qatar Charity.

Commercial Entities

The charity also appreciated the role of commercial entities in supporting QC’s Ramadan campaign by hosting its collection points, funding its Iftar tables, sponsoring its projects and initiatives, or giving discounts based on partnerships in some projects, which benefited many poor, needy and low-income families. The most prominent commercial entities are as follows:

Sports and Youth

The charity also appreciated the efforts of many sports and cultural institutions such as: Qatar Football Association, Qatar Sports Club, Al Arabi Sports Club, Al Ahli Sports Club, Al Kaaban Youth Center, Al Thakhira Youth Center, Barzan Youth Center, Al-Jumayliyah Youth Center, and Al Shaqab Team, Qatar.

Qatar Charity also lauded the role played by the youth and volunteer initiatives as well as it praised the efforts made by Qatari Majlis to hold a number of events and gatherings in the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Qatar Charity launched its Ramadan campaign for the year 1439 AH/2018 under the slogan "Giving is the secret to happiness". The campaign included the implementation of many projects such as Iftar tables, distribution of food baskets, Zakat al-Fitr, and Eid clothing, which benefited more than 2 million in Qatar and 29 other countries around the world. The public and awareness programmes were also organized by the charity within Qatar.
