The number of Orphans Sponsored by Qatar Charity in Kenya, quadrupled during the current year 2018, compared with the last year. The number has so far reached 4,000 orphans while there were 1,110 orphans sponsored by QC until the end of 2017.

This quantitative development coincided with the qualitative improvement in the comprehensive care services, activities, events and leisure trips allocated to orphans, as their last visit was marked with the presence of Mr. Jabr bin Ali Al Dosari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nairobi.

200 orphaned girls and boys, accompanied by a number of supervisors, participated in this trip to the Paradise Lost park, 10 km from the capital Nairobi.

The orphans spent a full day in an enjoyable atmosphere, participating in a variety of activities and games and having fun in the fresh air and a spacious beautiful green land.

Mohammed Hussein Omar, director of QC’s regional office in Kenya, said that this trip was remarkable because the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nairobi participated with the orphaned children, which brought pleasure to their hearts and left a good impact on them.

He also added that Ambassador always participates in many activities organized by Qatar Charity, which promotes voluntary and humanitarian work. He pointed out that His Excellency distributed gifts to orphans during the trip and recommended giving special priority to those who excel.

Mohammed Hussein Omar also thanked the sponsors in Qatar and worldwide, who are credited with increasing the number of the sponsored children and providing specific activities for them.

At the end of the trip, the Ambassador extended thanks to Qatar Charity, which serves children throughout the world, works to provide care to those who lost their parents and seeks to draw the smile on their faces. He also expressed his pleasure at participating in the recreational activity, which is an important part of the comprehensive care provided by Qatar Charity to orphans.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity attaches special attention to orphans since its establishment as part of its social welfare programmes. On December 31, 2013, the charity launched its "Rofaqa" initiative to provide the integrated care to the largest possible number of the orphaned children around the world. To date, the initiative managed to sponsor more than 153,000 orphans in Asia, Africa and Europe.
