Qatar Charity distributes aid Syrian refugees in Lebanon
Qatar Charity Qatar Charity (QC), with the support from the benefactors in Qatar, has distributed urgent winter aid to Syrians in northern Lebanon, as part of the “Sham Deserves” campaign, benefiting nearly 30,000 refugees living in camps under very problematic conditions during winter.
The aid aims to meet the basic winter needs of refugees by providing them with heating materials, food items, blankets, and coats for children at an estimated cost of 500,000 Qatari riyals. Some 3,262 families have benefited from the aid directly, while 13,910 Syrian refugees have benefited indirectly.
The focus was on refugees residing in the camps, the vulnerable in areas that were severely affected by the storm, and the neediest and poorest families with more children, in addition to people with special needs and others.
It is worth mentioning that the humanitarian situation in Syria is getting worse day after day, which requires relief aid to be delivered to the affected persons. The number of those displaced during the past three months has exceeded one million, of whom 80,000 people live in open places, without their basic needs being met.
Qatar Charity, in partnership with the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), is implementing the “Sham Deserves” campaign and has organized various events to raise funds for Syrian refugees and displaced persons.
The “Sham Deserves” campaign, which will continue until the end of March, aims to deliver assistance to 250,000 Syrian refugees and displaced persons. Qatar Charity has distributed relief aid to the vulnerable Syrians, through two delegations within one week.
