Over 100,000 people benefit from Qatar Charity’s Ramadan food baskets in Somalia and Gaza

Several thousands of families of orphans, families in need, and persons with special needs in Somalia and Palestine expressed their delight at receiving food baskets from Qatar Charity in the blessed month of Ramadan.

The food baskets, which were distributed through Qatar Charity’s offices in Mogadishu and the Gaza Strip, as part of its Ramadan campaign, contributed to lightening the negative effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, by meeting the food needs of the beneficiaries for the holy month of Ramadan.

Qatar Charity has distributed 16,732 food baskets, with Somalia receiving 11,432 baskets and the Gaza Strip getting 5300 baskets.

The baskets contained the main food supplies, and each of them is sufficient for a family throughout the month of Ramadan, benefiting 16,732 families with 100,592 individuals at an estimated cost of 3,372,000 Qatari riyals.

Qatar Charity sponsors more than 16,000 orphans, students, poor families, and persons with special needs in the Gaza Strip, while 24,000 persons are sponsored in Somalia.
