Qatar Charity launches ‘Charity Partner’ to involve companies in humanitarian activities

Qatar Charity (QC) launched the Charity Partner (CP) program in a press conference, as part of its strategic objectives aimed at extending a helping hand to the needy and working on building a better society.

The CP program, which is Qatar Charity’s largest program in the field of social responsibility, come to develop a community partnerships system, and aims at raising awareness in society about the importance of the role of institutions and companies in social responsibility. The product, which will have a CP sign, will support humanitarian activities.

Addressing at the press conference, Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim, Director of Customer Service and Marketing at Qatar Charity, expressed his delight with launching the CP program, which is the first innovative certification based on the principle of developing the charitable and developmental work system within legal frameworks registered in accordance with international provisions.

He indicated that the program is the world’s first trademark to be granted in favor of supporting charitable and development activities, and it will contribute significantly to developing the community partnerships system.

He emphasized that Qatar Charity is open to cooperate with the private sector to implement its humanitarian programs and projects, urging companies to join the CP program. The offers of the interested companies for the trademark will be studies, and then it will be placed on the products that are agreed upon with the partners.

For his part, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shirawi, Head of the Resource Development Department at Qatar Charity, said that the CP program works on revitalizing the role of various institutions and companies, so that they play a clear social role in accordance with Qatar Charity's goals. He added that the CP program will be introduced to the community members and companies, targeting them to come under this system.

The CP has many advantages for companies joining it, as they can receive free training, as well as human resource support through volunteers, in addition to delivering assistance to the workers and employees of a ‘partner’

Immediately following the press conference, Arab Elite, the first company, announced its desire to join the CP program. Mr. Muhammad Ghanem Al-Muhannadi, General Manager of the company indicated that joining the program comes as part of the company's social responsibility, as it is keen to support charitable and humanitarian projects of Qatar Charity, adding that he will allocate a portion of the product proceeds to support Qatar Charity projects.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity seeks to expand cooperation with local companies to implement sustainable charitable projects, social responsibility programs, and initiatives.
