Qatar Charity launches cultural and awareness-raising events
Qatar Charity (QC) announced the launch of several cultural and awareness-raising events and activities for families and their children. This coincides with the advent of Dhul-Hijjah, the twelfth and final month in the Islamic calendar, and comes as part of Qatar Charity’s Eid al-Adha drive ‘Delight them with your sacrifice, Let the hope continue’.
These events will be held remotely by the Qatar Charity Centers for Community Development through Microsoft Teams, and will include the ‘Hajj Rituals Box’, lectures, and grandma stories, in addition to other activities.
“These events, which coincide with the blessed days of Dhu al-Hijjah, aim to promote values, draw attention to the importance of the rituals of Hajj, connect families and children in an interactive way, which enhances society’s creative capabilities that can contribute to voluntary work and participate in supporting Qatar Charity projects,” said the director of the Programs and Community Development department at Qatar Charity Fatima Jumah AlMohannad.
The ‘Hajj Rituals Box’ is a cultural project for families. It is about providing a box designed in a way attracting beneficiaries from family members so that children along with their parents can learn to perform the Hajj rituals virtually by installing Hajj models.
The contribution to this project can be made by marketing 200 boxes for the education of children from low-income families.
Besides, four lectures will be given on the importance of these ten days and sacrifice, and the joy of Eid to promote the cultural and religious values.
Also, an activity will be held to allow artists to participate with their drawings on Hajj, which will be donated to Qatar Charity in support of its charitable projects.
The Eid Al Adha events also includes three stories told by a grandmother on Al Rayan TV during the days of Eid Al Adha. The stories end with a puzzle that people compete to solve by posting on the Instagram account of Al Rayyan TV or Qatar Charity. The winners will receive prizes.
