Qatar Charity organizes various activities for orphans in Djibouti

Qatar Charity (QC), through its office in Djibouti, organized various recreational, sports, awareness-raising and medical activities for the sponsored children and their families.

The activities came as part of Qatar Charity’s keenness to provide inclusive care to those, whom it sponsors. These activities aim to bring happiness to the sponsored, develop their capabilities, enhance their self-confidence, and improve their interpersonal skills.

The event, which was held in cooperation with the Djibouti Tennis Federation, was attended by the Chargé d'Affairs of the State of Qatar, Mr. Saif bin Majed Al-Mansoori, the Chargé d'Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Mr. Khaled Al-Hassam, and Mr. Sujeh Ibrahim, President of the Djibouti Tennis Federation,

The event coincided with World Children's Day. It included a medical examination and a sports activity for all sponsored orphans, in addition to the distribution of sports clothes and shoes to 200 orphans. Besides, an awareness-raising activity was held for orphans' mothers to acquaint them with the right of the sponsored and the responsibilities of mothers towards their children. The event also comprised other activities for the children such as face painting, various competitions and gift distribution.

Mr. Sujeh Ibrahim, President of the Djibouti Tennis Federation, thanked the officials of the Qatari and Kuwaiti embassies, praising Qatar Charity’s support for the sponsored orphans. He also expressed his happiness with the cooperation with Qatar Charity, promising to intensify such cooperation in the future.

The orphans thanked their sponsors in Qatar and Qatar Charity for organizing these educational and recreational activities, which made them feel very happy.

Qatar Charity sponsors 1,000 orphans and poor families currently in Djibouti. Since the opening of its office in 2015, it has been extending humanitarian and developmental support in the country. Qatar Charity has implemented 439 projects in the sectors of relief, social care, water and sanitation, economic empowerment, health, education, culture and others.
