A Qatar Charity’s (QC) delegation, comprising a group of male and female donors, paid a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina to closely see Qatar Charity’s project and deliver humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable in the country.
Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, director of the Marketing and Digital Growth and Customer Service departments at Qatar Charity thanked the benefactors in Qatar for supporting Qatar Charity’s project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He added that the visit was aimed at following up on the progress of charitable and humanitarian projects implemented by Qatar Charity in the country, and assessing the needs for such projects and social welfare activities.
Among the implemented projects visited by the delegation is a dormitory built by Qatar Charity for female students in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Some 110 students live and receive food and educational, sports and entertainment services at the dormitory, where Qatar Charity’s delegation was acquainted with the scholarship project.
The delegation also visited the greenhouses that have a positive impact on the people of the area, and benefit dozens of individuals directly. This income-generating project helps provide a stable life to returnees.
Furthermore, the delegation paid a visit to a Qatar Charity center for persons with special needs. The center, which is equipped with many facilities to hold art workshops and provide speech therapy and physiotherapy series, benefits 120 persons with special needs. The delegation was also briefed on the needs and financial challenges facing the center in providing better services to a larger number of those with special needs.
Besides, the delegation met dozens of underprivileged families living in dilapidated wooden houses, distributing food packages, firewood, and blankets to them, in addition to gifts for children.
At the end of the visit, Qatar Charity’s delegation was received by the director of a government hospital, in which Qatar Charity equipped a dialysis center with the necessary equipment and furniture. The director thanked the benefactors in Qatar and Qatar Charity for extending the support, noting the hospital’s urgent need for the ambulance.
