Qatar Charity launches many development projects in Tunisia

Qatar Charity (QC) launched many development projects in Tunisia, in the presence of HE Saad bin Nasser Al Humaidi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tunisia, Mr. Abdelfattah Chakchouk, governor of Mahdia, Mr. Ridha Rokbani, governor of Kasserine, and Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, Director of the International Programs and Development Department at Qatar Charity.

These projects included the handover of social housing units, and the opening of an education center for special needs.

Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, Director of the International Programs and Development Department at Qatar Charity, handed over 42 social housing units to low-income families in Mahdia to improve their living conditions.

The handover of the social housing units comes within the framework of Qatar Charity's keenness to provide a dignified life for families with limited incomes,” said Hejji. He noted that 20 housing units will be handed over in the Tataouine Governorate, in the presence of the governor and many officials.

Hejji thanked the concerned Tunisian authorities for providing the necessary facilities for the implementation of these and other projects, underlining that Qatar Charity will continue to implement several other development projects in the coming period.

Besides, Qatar Charity opened an education center for special needs in Kasserine, which is the first of its kind in Thala town and neighboring cities that need such type of projects. The center, which was built on an area of 500 square meters, has many halls and offices.

HE Saad bin Nasser Al Humaidi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tunisia, affirmed his country's continuous readiness to support Tunisia in all fields, noting the continuation of fruitful cooperation with Tunisia to implement a larger number of development and social projects.

He added that Qatar Charity has major contributions in Tunisia in all humanitarian fields, especially in the field of social housing, economic empowerment, water, and food security, indicating that its interventions in Kasserine are numerous, especially in the social field.

For his part, Mr. Ridha Rokbani, governor of Kasserine, appreciated this initiative implemented by Qatar Charity, which will enable the people of with special needs and autism patients in Thala to receive their education.

The opening ceremony saw a theatrical performance by the center's children, in addition to an exhibition and video presentations about Qatar Charity and its most prominent projects in Tunisia.
