Qatar Charity paid incentives to medical staff for five months from April to last August at Al Nou Hospital in Omdurman. This intervention falls within the project to support and operate the hospital, where 89 staff benefited from it.
Valuing the initiative
The health and administrative staff working at Al Nou Hospital expressed their appreciation for Qatar Charity’s initiative to stand by them, which led to the cessation of salaries and incentives in a way that negatively affected the provision of necessary medical services at the hospital, which has become a safe destination for many patients.
Dr. Ahmed Zaid Ghazi, a doctor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and an administrator at Al Nou Hospital, said that they thank Qatar Charity for its support of the hospital and its sponsorship of paying arrears and incentives since the outbreak of war in April until this August. He explained that this support will contribute to the regular flow of management of the hospital and help in the regularity of staff, work, and the provision of medical services. For citizens and wounded in the hospital.

For his part, Mr. Moataz Ibrahim, Director of the International Organizations Department at the Humanitarian Aid Commission, praised the assistance provided by the State of Qatar to those affected by the fighting in Sudan and expressed his thanks and deep appreciation to the Emir, government, and people of Qatar, and to Qatar Charity for the assistance provided to their brothers in Sudan since the beginning of the crisis.
Continuous interventions
This project comes as a continuation of a series of humanitarian and development interventions implemented by Qatar Charity in Sudan, which increased in frequency after the outbreak of war. During the past few days, Qatar Charity operated a second air bridge to provide (62) tons of cancer and kidney failure medicines in Sudan.
It is worth noting that Qatar Charity implemented a series of food and medical interventions for those affected by the war in the various states of Sudan, and beneficiaries of the food baskets, hot meals, and mobile clinics projects praised the projects that have been implemented since the outbreak of war in Sudan. Qatar Charity had delivered the first shipment of cancer medicines to the country since the beginning of the war.
