Qatar Charity constructs school building in Nepal

Qatar Charity (QC) has constructed and furnished a building for the Shree Janata Secondary School in the Rampurkhap village under the Paroha municipality of Nepal. Additionally, Qatar Charity distributed school supplies to orphans in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. This aims to contribute to improving the quality of education and supporting orphaned students as part of Qatar Charity’s comprehensive care for orphans.

The newly constructed building of Shree Janata Secondary School was inaugurated by Mr. Meteb Saeed AlMarri, General Supervisor of Qatar Charity’s office in Nepal, and Mr. Shekh Wakil, Mayor of the Paroha Municipality.  The 388 sqm building comprises nine classrooms. Qatar Charity also built toilets and handwashing facilities in the school premises.

Qatar Charity extended support to provide school furniture such as desks, benches, and whiteboards, in addition to providing administrative furniture requirements.

Qatar Charity, through the newly constructed school building, aims to create a safe, inclusive, and well-equipped learning environment with enough classrooms and facilities to accommodate all the students and encourage community involvement in education. 

During his speech at the inauguration of the school building, Mr. Shekh Wakil, Mayor of the Paroha Municipality, thanked the benefactors of Qatar, Qatar Charity, and Rural Development Center for supporting the construction of the school building. He expressed his hope for continued support from Qatar Charity in the future.

Mr. Meteb Saeed AlMarri, General Supervisor of Qatar Charity’s office in Nepal, expressed his delight with the assistance provided by the benefactors of Qatar to the people in Nepal. He hoped that Qatar Charity would provide more support in the coming period.

Besides, Qatar Charity distributed bags along with school supplies and sports items to 150 orphans in Kathmandu in the presence of the General Supervisor of Qatar Charity’s office in Nepal, Mr. Meteb Saeed AlMarri. The bags, which were distributed, in cooperation with Qatar Airways and in coordination with HEAL Nepal, included school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, and color pencils, in addition to other sports items.

The children, who were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in drawing and other activities, expressed their joy at receiving the bags. They thanked the philanthropists of Qatar and Qatar Charity for their kind gesture.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity has been working in Nepal since 2017 AD. Since then, it has been engaged in implementing multisectoral development programs in close collaboration with the Government of Nepal.
