The office of Qatar Charity (QC) in Sri Lanka implemented the "Health Checkup and Dental Treatment" project for the benefit of female students at the Charitable School for Girls in the capital, Colombo. The project, which was implemented with the support of benefactors in Qatar, included a comprehensive examination of the mouth and teeth, as well as therapeutic interventions for 400 students at the school.

The project was implemented in conjunction with holding educational and awareness sessions for the students on the importance of oral and dental care, preventive measures, and early treatment of diseases, in cooperation with the school administration.

The implementation of this project is part of the various humanitarian and developmental projects carried out by Qatar Charity’s office in Sri Lanka, in cooperation with ministries and civil society components.

The project received appreciation from the school administration and the students. The school principal, Ms. Tazira Hasanar, stated, "This project is considered one of the vital and important health initiatives in the school, as it contributes to enhancing the awareness of the students regarding the importance of maintaining oral and dental health. Additionally, it aids in the early detection of any symptoms experienced by the students, helps in their treatment, and guides parents in the health follow-up of their daughters. The significance of this project lies in addressing the deficiency in health services provided in schools."

The school principal thanked Qatar Charity and the benefactors in Qatar for supporting this project.

Amira Najib al-Din, a student, expressed her gratitude to Qatar Charity for implementing this project, which helped discover and treat some cavities problems in her teeth.

Yushara Rilwan, another student, confirmed that she benefited from the awareness sessions about the importance of dental care and various preventive measures against gum infections and tooth decay.

It is worth mentioning that this project is part of Qatar Charity's continued interventions in the health sector. Qatar Charity’s office in Sri Lanka initiated the implementation of a project to supply medicines to public hospitals in the country, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. The project includes the supply of various medications for heart, vascular diseases, and respiratory diseases. This project is expected to benefit around 48,000 patients.
