Qatar Charity (QC), through its office in Kosovo and with the support of benevolent people in Qatar, implemented 470 humanitarian and developmental projects in 2023. These projects benefited over 80,000 persons from impoverished communities. Additionally, Qatar Charity continued to provide social care for 3,500 sponsored orphans, students, individuals with special needs, and poor families, as part of the “Rofaqa” initiative that focuses on issues concerning children and orphans worldwide.

These projects were completed in coordination with the ministries and government institutions in Kosovo, in line with their developmental strategy to combat poverty. This was achieved through the signing of 20 executive agreements with the concerned bodies in the country, which enhances the credibility of Qatar Charity and the role of its projects in sustainable development and support for vulnerable groups in Kosovo.

The overall achievements of Qatar Charity’s Kosovo office demonstrate both quantitative and qualitative advancements in the implemented projects. There has been a 20 percent increase on the quantitative side, in addition to advancements in qualitative projects in the fields of health, culture, and education.

The projects implemented by Qatar Charity in Kosovo include 160 wells, 290 economic empowerment projects, 13 projects in the fields of education, culture, health, and social housing, and 7 projects in humanitarian and relief domains.

During 2023, Qatar Charity also trained more than 420 students on different language and IT skills through its “Qatar Training Center”. The Prime Minister of Kosovo paid a visit to the center and Qatar Charity’s office in the capital Pristina. He praised the center for its qualitative efforts, which culminated in obtaining a distinguished ranking in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Olympiad in Paris in 2023.

Last year, Qatar Charity embarked on implementing qualitative development projects, including the Islamic Center in the Municipality of Lipjam, the Medical Emergency Center in the Municipality of Podujeva, the Family Medicine Center in the Municipality of Ferizaj, and the Family Medicine Center “Eliefi” in the Municipality of Mitrovica.
