Qatar Charity’s delegation delivers winter aid to refugees in Jordan

A delegation of prominent Qatari donors, led by Mr. Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, CEO’s assistant for the Resources Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity, paid a humanitarian visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan where the delegation delivered winter aid to refugees and underprivileged families. The delegation also visited QC Comprehensive Health Center and King Hussein Cancer Center and attended the events related to the orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity.

This comes as part of the implementation of Qatar Charity’s winter campaign “One Heart”.

Mr. Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, CEO’s assistant for the Resources Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity, said, "We are keen to organize such visits for prominent donors to enable them to closely observe the conditions of refugees, participate in providing humanitarian assistance, and become acquainted with Qatar Charity's qualitative projects, such as the QC Comprehensive Health Center in the Zaatari Refugee Camp."

Fakhroo emphasized that the purpose of the visit is to understand the plight of the refugees, especially in the increasing cold weather, and to highlight the impact of the aid provided by the people of Qatar and its role in positively changing the lives of families living in the camps.

Fakhroo thanked the generous donors of Qatar, looking forward to increasing the frequency of such humanitarian visits that foster a closer connection between donors and beneficiaries on a larger scale.

Distributed by the delegation, the assistance included 2,450 heaters and gas cylinders to benefit approximately 10,000 individuals. Additionally, it comprised 350 vouchers for winter clothing of nearly 2,000 beneficiaries, as well as 1,400 blankets benefiting 2,000 people. Furthermore, 1,200 food packages were distributed to 6,000 persons, and 1,700 food vouchers were provided to benefit 10,000 people across various governorates of Jordan. The total number of beneficiaries from the distributed aid reached 30,000 people.

The humanitarian trip of Qatar Charity's prominent donors encompassed several distinctive events. It commenced with a recreational day for orphans, where the donors, along with the children, actively participated in various competitions and activities. The delegation also visited the homes of families sponsored by Qatar Charity, assessing their needs. They affirmed their commitment to assisting these families, preserving their dignity.

The journey also included a visit to the King Hussein Cancer Center, where an honorary shield was presented to the center in recognition of its pioneering efforts in the field of cancer treatment and patient care.

The delegation also participated in the distribution of aid under the winter campaign “One Heart” in Al-Ba'ij of Mafraq Governorate. They visited the QC Comprehensive Health Center in the Zaatari Refugee Camp, where Qatar Charity’s honorary shield was presented to the center management for providing the continued health services to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the refugees.

At the conclusion of the journey, winter assistance was distributed to needy families in the Talbieh Camp.
