A delegation from Qatar Charity (QC), headed by its CEO Yousuf bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, participated in the 9th Conference on Effective Partnership for Better Humanitarian Aid, which was held in Kuwait yesterday under the patronage of His Highness the Kuwaiti Prime Minister and organized by the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), in coordination and partnership with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and several other humanitarian organizations, with support and cooperation of many strategic partners, including Qatar Charity.

The conference focused on assessing the reality of Humanitarian Needs in the Gaza Strip, mobilizing efforts of humanitarian organizations to manage sustainable humanitarian intervention, offering initiatives and solutions to meet these needs, and sharing common expertise in the Early Recovery (ER).

The CEO of Qatar Charity expressed his happiness that Qatar Charity is a strategic partner for this conference and participates in its sessions, given its humanitarian work amidst the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized the importance of mobilizing support from humanitarian organizations worldwide to meet the needs of the people in Gaza. He affirmed that Qatar Charity places the humanitarian and developmental needs of the Palestinian people at the top of its priorities to provide necessary assistance.

During his opening speech at the conference, he elaborated that Qatar Charity, with the support of philanthropists in Qatar, has continuously extended a helping hand to the people of the Gaza Strip for over 200 days amidst the escalating humanitarian crisis gripping the region.

He highlighted that Qatar Charity, in collaboration with the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and various Qatari organizations, participated in sending 95 aircraft containing over 2800 tons of aid, which comprised 845 tons of food supplies, 1600 tents, and 44,000 packages of medical supplies, shelter kits, and clothing.

At the end of his speech, he emphasized that Qatar Charity will continue to support the people of Palestine as a humanitarian duty and stand by them in the face of the difficult circumstances they are experiencing.

It is worth mentioning that the one-day conference, which comprised five sessions, discussed the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza, means of delivering aid, civilians' protection, and the need of expanding response as well as the repercussions of forced displacement and ways of getting basic needs.

It is anticipated that the conference's closing session will witness the launch of a humanitarian initiative under the name ‘SANAD’ to enhance humanitarian intervention and early recovery in Gaza.
