Qatar Charity (QC) swiftly responded in the early days of the unprecedented crisis in Gaza in October of last year by delivering urgent humanitarian aid. It launched a campaign to mobilize support for those affected, utilizing all available means.

Qatar Charity continues its humanitarian efforts to this day. From October 7, 2023, to October 7, 2024, it provided aid worth nearly QR 114 million, thanks to generous donors in Qatar, benefiting around 2.7 million people.

The areas of humanitarian intervention included comprehensive relief, food supply, shelter and non-food items, health, water and sanitation, and education.

Qatar Charity thanks the generous individuals, companies, and institutions in Qatar for their donations and support in easing the suffering of those in need. It urges continued support as the crisis persists and winter approaches. It also expressed gratitude to its UN and international partners for helping deliver aid to Gaza.

Since the first week of the Gaza crisis, Qatar Charity has worked with the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), and Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) to transport aid from Doha to Egypt’s Al-Arish through the Qatari airlift, delivering it to Gaza through the Rafah crossing.

Qatar Charity also cooperated with several international partners to deliver aid to Gaza through Egypt, in coordination with relevant authorities.

Moreover, Qatar Charity collaborated with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) to provide aid through Jordan and coordinated with UNRWA for aid delivery to Gaza. Qatar Charity has delivered over 1,010 tons of humanitarian aid via 97 flights through the Qatari airlift.

To enhance humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza, Qatar Charity signed an agreement with UNRWA last August to provide life-saving assistance, including food, emergency shelter, and healthcare services. Qatar Charity has also distributed 6,500 food parcels to affected families in Gaza.

Qatar Charity's first aid shipment to Gaza through Jordan, in collaboration with JHCO, included 33 trucks of food parcels, in addition to medical convoys entered through UNRWA. Over 200,000 people in Gaza have benefited from Qatar Charity's agreements with UNRWA, with the aid valued at more than QR 15 million.

International organizations view Qatar Charity as a reliable partner in humanitarian efforts across the globe, including in Palestine and Gaza. This was emphasized by Ben Majekodunmi, UNRWA Chief of Staff, during the recent signing of an agreement to providing life-saving aid for those in need in Gaza. He stated, “We are grateful for Qatar Charity’s support, which is critical to provide much-needed humanitarian assistance. We commend Qatar Charity for being a reliable partner of the UN family, supporting UN humanitarian operations in different locations worldwide.”
