Qatar Charity and Islamic Relief Worldwide have signed a strategic agreement to enhance their joint cooperation in providing humanitarian assistance and their efforts in the field of sustainable development and peacebuilding around the world.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Nawaf Al-Hammadi, Assistant CEO for International Operations at Qatar Charity, and Mr. Adnan Hafiz, Director of Network Development and Resources at Islamic Relief Worldwide in the United Kingdom.
The agreement emphasizes the commitment of both parties to their joint humanitarian and developmental efforts aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the national priorities of the countries benefiting from their joint projects in areas such as education, health, water and sanitation, food security, economic empowerment, child protection, and social welfare. The aim is to contribute to achieving a decent life for vulnerable groups worldwide, enhancing comprehensive and sustainable development for needy communities, fostering peace and social cohesion, and alleviating the suffering of displaced persons, refugees, and those affected by humanitarian crises while helping them secure their basic rights.
Additionally, the agreement underscores the importance of involving local communities in planning and evaluating the joint projects, prioritizing the needs of local populations, and ensuring the sustainability of these projects, while also aligning their humanitarian and developmental interventions with climate action.
Through this partnership, Qatar Charity and Islamic Relief Worldwide aim to enhance their reach to disaster- and crisis-affected countries and those suffering from poverty, implementing projects that make an impact in humanitarian and developmental fields.
