The Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFA) has selected Qatar Charity as a humanitarian partner for the Theeb Ultra Trail Marathon 2024, a desert race that recently concluded.

Through this partnership, Qatar Charity enabled participants and attendees of the race to contribute to its ‘Alaqraboon’ initiative, which focuses on aiding debtors, widows, and divorcees, among others, within Qatar. The initiative aims to foster solidarity and social responsibility by collaborating with various sectors in the country, including governmental and private institutions, companies, and initiatives.

In collaboration with Seashore Group and the race organizers, Qatar Charity placed recycling bins around the racecourse to collect water bottles. This initiative reflects Qatar Charity’s commitment to environmental sustainability in sports, aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Mr. Ali Ibrahem AlGreeb, Director of the Resource Development Department at Qatar Charity, expressed pride in the organization’s selection as the humanitarian partner for the Theeb Ultra Trail Marathon by QSFA. He emphasized that this cooperation reflects Qatar Charity's commitment to promoting values of giving, solidarity, and social responsibility. He noted that Qatar Charity aims to involve both individuals and organizations in charitable and humanitarian work, creating a positive impact on the community.

AlGreeb expressed his hope that this partnership will support and assist humanitarian cases under ‘Alaqraboon’ within Qatar. He also emphasized the importance of leveraging sports and community events to raise environmental awareness, in coordination with relevant organizations.

It is worth mentioning that the fifth edition of the Theeb Ultra Trail Marathon took place in Zekreet, Qatar, on November 22-23, 2024. This event is one of the most prominent sports gatherings for both running and cycling enthusiasts in the region. It attracted widespread participation from Qatar, the Gulf countries, and international athletes, both professional and amateur.
