Qatar Charity launches ‘Giving Lives On’ Ramadan campaign to aid millions worldwide

Qatar Charity (QC) has launched its Ramadan campaign for 1446 AH - 2025 AD, called "Giving Lives on". The campaign aims to benefit 4.5 million people in need across 40 countries, including Qatar, with the support from benefactors in Qatar.

Qatar Charity's "Giving Lives On" campaign will deliver aid and development projects, with a strong focus on Gaza where over two million people face a food crisis. The campaign will also address other basic needs and support early recovery.

At the press conference opening, Mr. Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo Chief Marketing Officer at Qatar Charity, offered Ramadan greetings to Qatar's leadership, government, citizens, and residents.

He thanked donors and urged them to support the "Giving Lives On" campaign to aid millions in need, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, vulnerable families abroad, and those with low-income in Qatar.

Fakhroo explained that the campaign's name, " Giving Lives On", reflects Qatar’s deeply rooted generosity and encourages people to emulate their ancestors' kindness, especially during Ramadan, to help those in need globally.

Zakat Calculation & Collection

Fakhroo noted that Qatar Charity offers easy donation methods, including online (qcharity.org/en) and via mobile app (qch.qa/appen), and can assist with Zakat calculations for individuals and companies.

Donors can easily calculate and give their Zakat through the "Home Collector" service on the app (qch.qa/appen),or by calling 44290000. They can also donate at Qatar Charity’s branches and mall collection points in shopping malls.

Seasonal Projects Inside and Outside Qatar

During Ramadan, Qatar Charity's seasonal projects and humanitarian aid aim to support over 2.1 million people both within Qatar and internationally, with an estimated cost of QR 166 million.

Seasonal Projects Outside Qatar

Mr. Nawaf Abdulla AlHammadi, Chief Global Programs Officer at Qatar Charity, detailed the Ramadan projects outside Qatar, indicating that they include ‘Feed the Fasting’ (hot meals and food packages), ‘Zakat al-Fitr’, and ‘Eid Clothing’.

AlHammadi explained these projects will be implemented in 39 countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe, with priority given to crisis-affected countries like Palestine, Syria, Sudan, and Yemen.

He mentioned that Gaza will receive significant attention, with plans for the largest Iftar project on Ramadan's first day and the dispatch of relief convoys.

Development Projects Outside Qatar

Al-Hammadi stated that the campaign will mobilize support to implement various projects (shelter, water, mosques, orphan sponsorship, etc.) with an estimated cost of QR 282 million, benefiting 2.4 million people.

Seasonal Projects in Qatar

Mr. Faisal Rashid AlFehaida, Chief Local Programs Officer at Qatar Charity, mentioned locally implemented Ramadan projects that include ‘Mobile Iftar for Farm Workers’ in 7 places and ‘Iftar Tables’ (Ramadan tents) at 46 locations. He also noted ‘Ramadan Supply’ for families with limited income, widows, and divorced women, as well as shopping coupons, in addition to Zakat Al-Fitr and Eid gifts. AlFehaida added that aid will be provided through the ‘Alaqraboon App’ for debtors, prisoners, and humanitarian cases.
