Qatar Charity (QC) and the African Development Solutions (ADESO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation, identify aspects of mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities, and define appropriate implementation mechanisms.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohamed Al Ghamdi, Chief Governance & External Affairs Officer at Qatar Charity, and Ms. Degan Ali, Executive Director of ADESO.

The MoU aims to explore avenues of collaboration in humanitarian and development initiatives in areas of common interest, with a focus on developing initiatives, platforms, events, and sponsorships, and advocating for localization through empowering local actors. This includes technical assistance to build the capabilities of local organizations, support their governance, and link them to resource networks.

The MoU also aims to collaborate on designing humanitarian and development programs, including setting goals, objectives, and strategies, and developing performance indicators, as well as to exchange best practices, lessons learned, and technical expertise to achieve mutual objectives by creating hubs for knowledge-sharing, best practices, and operational efficiency.

Mr. Mohamed Al Ghamdi, Chief Governance & External Affairs Officer at Qatar Charity, stated, "We at Qatar Charity are pleased to sign a MoU with ADESO, along with the Pledge for Change network convened by the organization. This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships with international humanitarian organizations and expanding cooperation to achieve our shared humanitarian and development goals."

He emphasized that this partnership aligns with Qatar Charity’s efforts to develop impactful initiatives that support local actors and enhance their ability to effectively respond to humanitarian and development challenges in our shared areas of operation.

He added that this MoU represents a first step toward a fruitful and sustainable collaboration, strengthening the synergy between the two organizations and delivering tangible results that will positively impact the communities they both serve.

Ms. Degan Ali, Executive Director of ADESO, said, "This agreement between ADESO and Qatar Charity reflects our shared commitment to locally led development and empowering frontline organizations. Qatar Charity has established itself as a key global player in humanitarian and development work, and we see it as a role model for organizations. Through this collaboration, we aim to strengthen local actors by combining our efforts. This partnership marks an important step in advancing localization efforts and ensuring more effective, community-driven responses."
