With the generous support of the people of Qatar, Qatar Charity (QC), through its Sri Lanka office, has started implementing projects under its Ramadan Campaign “Giving Lives On”. As part of its “Feeding” project, Qatar Charity distributed food parcels to nearly 3,400 individuals belonging to the families of sponsored orphans in the Ampara District, eastern Sri Lanka.

This initiative is part of Qatar Charity's ongoing efforts to support the families of the sponsored orphans, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan. The food parcel contained essential items sufficient to meet the needs of the beneficiary families for over 20 days.

The teams at Qatar Charity’s office in Sri Lanka ensured that some food parcels were delivered to remote households, particularly those with the elderly and the sick, while the remaining parcels will be distributed through the distribution center.

Beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the assistance. Rahma Biwi said, "We thank Qatar Charity and the people of Qatar for their continuous support, especially during Ramadan, as these efforts ease our suffering."

Fatima Mahja, one of the sponsored orphans, shared her joy in receiving the food parcel, mentioning that she had been eagerly awaiting it. She added, "Qatar Charity distributes these parcels every Ramadan, and these donations remind us of the compassion and solidarity."

Meanwhile, Ramadan Mohamed Rashid, a mosque imam, extended his sincere thanks to Qatar Charity, the donors, and all those who contribute to meeting the needs of those in need throughout the year, especially during Ramadan, reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity.

To help underprivileged families live with dignity, Qatar Charity's Sri Lanka office is preparing to distribute Zakat al-Fitr to around 250 families, benefiting 1,250 individuals.

Through the Eid Clothing Project, the Sri Lanka office will provide approximately 200 orphans with Eid clothing, allowing them to select outfits that meet their individual needs.

With support from the people of Qatar, Qatar Charity's Ramadan campaign “Giving Lives On” aim to benefit 4.5 million people in 40 countries globally.
