With the support of Qatari people, and as part of its humanitarian efforts to support the neediest families during the holy month of Ramadan, Qatar Charity distributed 500 food baskets to the families of orphans under its care. This was part of the Iftar Project under its "Giving lives on " campaign, launched at the beginning of the current Ramadan season. The distribution benefitted 3,000 people.
Local Praise
The distribution took place in the presence of several officials from the Djiboutian Ministry of Social Affairs, with the aim of providing basic food necessities to the families supported by Qatar Charity, helping them prepare Iftar meals daily throughout the holy month and alleviating their living hardships.
The project received praise from Mr. Mahmoud Belh, the Advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs, who emphasized its importance in meeting the needs of many of the most vulnerable families. He highlighted how it assists them in fasting the holy month with ease and comfort and underscores the spirit of solidarity during this month of compassion and generosity.
Children's Happiness
Beneficiaries expressed their immense happiness upon receiving the food baskets, which serve as essential support during this blessed month. They thanked the people of Qatar and the Ministry of Social Affairs for their efforts. In this regard, Ms. Mona Ahmed, one of the mothers of orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity, mentioned that this project is one of the initiatives their families eagerly await every year. She said, “Our children’s joy with the arrival of Ramadan has become associated with receiving these baskets. We thank the people of Qatar for their generosity, which eases many of our burdens related to providing food for Iftar and Suhoor meals."
Support for the Campaign
It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity launched its Ramadan campaign, "Giving Lives On," for the current season 1446 AH – 2025 AD. The campaign is expected to be implemented with the support of Qatari people in 40 countries around the world, including Qatar, targeting 4.5 million beneficiaries in need.
Through this campaign, seasonal projects are being carried out, including Iftar meals, Zakat al-Fitr, and Eid clothing, while also gathering support to implement a range of quality development projects.
