Despite the increasing social significance of education in this day and age, the results are not pleasing enough. We would be surprised to know that millions of children around the world are still prematurely leaving the educational system. This phenomenon is alternatively known as “School Dropout”. These children are missing out schools then dropping out without acquiring any real intellectual or practical skills to help them lead healthy social lives in the future.
One of the most crucial factors affecting children to drop out of school is poverty. It is a systematic financial and material deficiency that makes parents unable to provide for their children. Poverty is primarily related to school dropout as low-income families cannot afford the expenses of paying for their children’s educational materials such as student books, uniforms, footwear, school fees and other school supplies.
Dropping out of schools will force children to work at a very young age, which will leave them exposed to exploitation, crimes and may put their lives at serious risk. It will also limit the children’s chances to have a better social or professional life in the future, which will subsequently affect the social development in any society.
This School year, fight school dropout and join Qatar Charity to advocate children rights to education. We reach out to low-income families, pay their children’s school fees and provide the children with essential school supplies. Contribute to giving unprivileged children the chance to write and read. Please donate.
