Qatar Charity Hands Over The Keys For 50 Residential Units in Gaza

  • Valued at 8 million Riyals, the residential building received back its resident after being destroyed 3 years ago during the war.

Members of 50 Palestinian families were overwhelmed with joy after receiving the keys of the their newly reconstructed apartments in Al Dafer Tower in Gaza Strip. In collaboration with the Palestinian ministry of Public works, Qatar Charity has rebuilt the tower after being destroyed during the last war against Gaza in 2014.

The Return of The Displaced:

Qatar Charity’s Director of the Palestine Bureau, delivered a speech to thank his Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Qatari government and its people for their abundant support to the Palestinian people and their generous help to enable all the displaced to return back home.

Mr. Haloub said “It is an absolute pleasure to announce the completion of works in Al Dafer Tower, as the project has been fully funded by Qatari support at a value of 8 million Riyals. We thank His Highness Sheikh Tamim, the Qatari government and people of Qatar for their continuous support for the Palestinian people and their cause”.  


Mr. Haloub also emphasized on the important role that Qatar Charity plays for the betterment of the Palestinian society as part of its humanitarian mission to advocate the rights of those less privileged. On behalf of the people of Gaza strip, Mr. Haloub expressed his joy to have seen Al Dafer Tower being reconstructed and taking its residents back.


Honor Shield:

Mr. Naji Sarhan – Minister of Public Works in Palestine – thanked the state of Qatar and its people for their continuous support to Palestine in various sectors, appreciating Qatar’s role in the reconstruction of Gaza strip and the improvement of its infrastructure.


Mr. Sarhan praised Qatar Charity’s efforts in sheltering those affected by war in Gaza strip, and its unwavering will to support construction projects in the region. 


At the end of the opening ceremony and on behalf of the Tower’s residents, Al Dafer Tower’s management board offered a shield of honor to Qatar Charity for restoring back the building after 3 years of its destruction.


Good Things Come Together:

This project is part of a series of reconstruction projects conducted by Qatar Charity in the Gaza Strip, including: the reconstruction of 400 housing units destroyed during the war, the furnishing of hundreds of units for the poor and needy families, as well as supporting other sectors such as health and education through in dozens of Relief and Development Projects
