QC Prepares for the Launch of

QC finished filming the third edition of its reality TV show 'One Heart' near the Turkey-Syria borders. Several famous people were in the show such as Dr. Salman Al Ouda and a group of media, dawa and sports stars from Qatar, the Gulf and the Arab World. The show will be displayed during the coming Ramadan 1437 AH.

"One Heart" TV show aims at introducing the humanitarian issues to the public, and attracting support in a spiritual and exciting manner. It will include lots of adventures and surprises. It also presents solutions in a creative way.

Awen Initiative

This year, the program focused on the sufferings of the Syrian refugees, considering their issue the greatest of all disasters around the world. The members visited the refugees' camps near the Turkey-Syria borders in multiple areas of Ghazi, Gaziantep, Antakya, Kilis and others. In cooperation and coordination with the regional partners of QC there, the teams paid multiple visits to QC's projects in Turkey which target this group of people.

The program also sought to show Turkey's huge role, as a country and people, in taking care of and sheltering the Syrian refugees. Turkey offered them relief aids, medications and free education. It also established camps for them. Turkey is considered the country with the biggest number of Syrian refugees; i.e. an average of more than 3,000,000 refugees found across the different Turkish cities and territories.

During the show, Dr. Al Ouda and the participants spoke about Awen Initiative for the Empowerment and Development of Syrian Refugees which was recently released by QC. They clarified the different aspects of this initiative; especially relating to improving charity work and moving it from relief aids stage to become sustainable development. It aims at improving the Syrians' capabilities and training them so as to work and become financially independent. This way, a healthy society would be built, clear of any social diseases which had broken many societies apart.

The activities which showed the great efforts of the participating teams were related to displaying the success stories of the Syrian refugees in Turkey. Some of them became merchants, others became employees; some others worked in agriculture, raising cattle and other arts and crafts.

The Three Teams

In addition to Sheikh Salman Ouda, the number of participants reached around 15 figures divided into 3 teams. The first is: 'Al Karama (White) Team' and consists of Uqeil Jinahi, a Journalist; Firas AlKhatib, International Football Player; Mohammed Abbas, Munshid; Mohammed Al Barak, Quran Reciter; and Siwar Al Thahab, Sports Commentator.

The second team is 'Al Nakhwa (Green) Team': Sheikh Khaled Abu Mooza, a Journalist, Preacher and a Businessman; Yehya Hawa, a Munshid; Ali Al Ghatayen, a Poet; Nasser Al Weiber, a Poet; and Mohammed Sa'don Al Kuwairi, QC's Ambassador and a Journalist.

The third team is 'Al Himma (Blue) Team': Nasser Al Khalifi, a Journalist; Ibrahim Al Naqib, a Munshid; Sabbah Al Kuwairi, a Journalist; Nayef Al Sharhan, a Munshid; and Adel Lami, an International Football Player.

The Earlier Seasons

"One Heart 3" is distinguished with the variety of activities it presents. The 3 teams met with orphans, people with disabilities, widows, elderly and tens of other humanitarian cases. They were interested in educational, health, shelter, economic empowerment, social care and income-generating projects implemented specially for the refugees.

Through the show, invitations will be sent for participation and donations through QC's channels such as its hotline, text messages, websites and QC's bank account which will be later on announced (after receiving the necessary licenses).

The second season of One Heart was filmed in Sudan; while the first was filmed in Socotra the year before that.

QC Supports the Operational Bu

Alghatrifi: Without the support of people of Qatar, patients of Dar Alshafqa would become homeless.
Director of QC office in Yemen: We hope that benefactors in Qatar continue their support to enable Dar Alshafqa complete its humanitarian mission.

Taking into account the conditions of patients and their companions, QC contributed through a charitable contribution from a benefactor of State of Qatar in supporting the operating budget of " Dar Alshafqa” as to take care of kidney failure patients and cancer in Yemen after they were leaving to nowhere as a result of support stoppage from the donors.

Qatar Charity (International Charity Organization) support contributed to reducing the suffering of kidney failure and cancer patients coming from the Yemeni provinces to Sanaa, where Dar Alshafqa provides them with food and transportation to and from hospitals.

Patients’ displacement

Dar Alshafqa was founded in 2008 and it has served about 3000 patients during the past period, providing them with adequate shelters, food, and transportation to hospitals for treatment. Yet, the situation has worsened after the recent crisis in Yemen many people were displaced from their provinces and dozens of patients came to Dar Alshafqa which already suffers from a significant shortfall to accommodate the growing number of patients.

Saving dozens of patients

Mansour Alghatrifi, Director of Dar Alshafqa, said that the support of the people of Qatar through QC has provided part of the operational budget which contributed to saving dozens of homeless patients. Alghatrifi stressed that QC support enabled them to continue to provide health and nutrition services to hundreds of patients despite the urgent need to more support due to increasing number of patients who were displaced from different regions because of the difficult situation in Yemen.

Alghatrifi called upon humanitarian institutions to provide more support and help to Dar Alshafqa to develop and expand its activities, stressing on his great confidence of QC and Qatari benefactors who always provide much more support to the Yemeni people.

Support of benefactors

Mr. Nasr Qayid Alzzaeim, Director of Qatar Charity office in Yemen, said that QC has launched this humanitarian initiative to promote its humanitarian efforts in Yemen, providing everything that would help the Yemeni people to overcome this difficult situation. It was unreasonable to leave hundreds of patients who suffer from incurable disease, so we contributed to help and support Dar Alshafqa, hoping that benefactors in Qatar will continue their support.

Alzzaeim pointed out that QC is aware of health and humanitarian problems resulting from the crisis in Yemen, stressing that QC will do its best to support Dar Alshafqa and provide medicine, food and clothes to the patients.

The operational budget of Dar Alshafqa is QR 470,000 annually, in addition to food expenses, QR 220,000, and other expenses, including helping patients in their treatment and transportation.

Indonesian Officials laud Qata

Deputy Head of the local council of Banten province: The projects implemented contributed to promoting development and public health in the city.

Eight parliament members from Banten paid a visit to QC's office in Indonesia, extending deepest thanks to QC and Qatari people for implementing projects in Banten during the last two years including more than 26 mosques, 400 wells, and 4 Quran memorization centers.

The delegation included Mr. yuyon sežana, head of the local council, Ms. Ade Rossi Khayer El Nessa, deputy head of the council and five other members of the Council: Cortobi Saud, Sominar, Asnin Sayf al-Din, Mohammed Cosoanda, Didi Jobaili and Ipoo Hacenah.

The members of the delegation expressed their thanks to Qatar Charity (International Charity Organization) for the considerable achievements carried out in a record time, expressing their gratitude to the Qartari philanthropists who provided assistance that meet the needs of the residents of Bantan.

 Speed of Implementation

"I'm aware of QC's projects, especially water and drilling wells projects that positively impacted the state's population, promoting development and public health," The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mrs. Ade Rossi Khayer El Nessa said.

In turn, Member of Parliament, Mr. Cortobi assured that he is impressed by Qatari charity projects that met the most important needs of the state's population. He also praised QC's speed in completing the projects, and providing high quality services to beneficiaries.

10 Provinces

Mr. Didi Jobaili, Member of Parliament, said, "I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the people of Qatar and Qatar Charity for supporting Indonesian people and contributing to the development of our state"

For his part, QC's office Director in Indonesia thanked the delegation and appreciated the humanitarian role played by the Qatari people, assuring that QC is implementing new projects in 10 provinces from Aceh to Lombok.

Total Projects

Qatar Charity has carried out: 5802 projects in several areas in Indonesia, namely: 722 mosques, 25 multi-service centers, 22 schools, 425 houses, 2574 wells, 272 wells 1761 Income Generating Projects

In 2016, QC has implemented 741 projects including 24 mosques, 7 multi-service memorization centers, 3 schools, 10 houses, 646 wells and 51 income-generatin

Qatar Charity Establishes 40 T

The traditional bakeries were established in remote villages to provide a reasonable income to their owners.

QC implemented Income Generating Projects in central Mauritania region and established 10 traditional bakeries in different villages in Brakna Region, which empowered the families economically and served 8000 people from the surrounding areas. Last year, QC established 30 bakeries in several Mauritanian villages and districts benefited 24,000 people.

The traditional bakeries were established in Barkéol, Municipality of Alghabra and other villages such as Bouhrat, Wadi Alnnays, Bambira and Jabb Sundaj.

The bakeries were constructed according to certain specification to avoid damage caused to bakeries built of mud. They consist of small rooms for preparing the dough and wood-fired ovens due to power cut in the areas.

Before QC built the new bakeries, the old bakeries were very bad and rickety as they were built of mud and therefore collapsed because of rain or high temperatures in the summer season.

Breadwinners suffer

In those villages breadwinners work in agriculture during monsoon rains but because rain amount is not heavy they emigrated their villages to cities looking for job opportunities, leaving their wives bear the burden of raising their children for several months.

Positive results

The results of this project were very positive as it provided the targeted families with job opportunities while provided the families with bread at reasonable prices.

Breadwinners expressed their happiness to those income-generating projects including the bakeries which were built according to modern specifications and resistant to difficult natural conditions after they were working in old bakeries for low wages barely enough to feed their families.

They also extended their gratitude and sincere thanks to the donors of Qatar and QC for their developmental role in Mauritania, particularly in remote and rural areas which are characterized by limited services compared to urban areas.

Economic empowerment

It is noteworthy to mention that the traditional bakeries established through Income Generating Projects contributed to improve the economic conditions of the beneficiaries as they provided them with a reasonable income and provided families living in remote and rural areas with bread.

QC has already established 30 traditional bakeries distributed over several villages and rural areas which have a very limited access to basic social services.

Qatar Charity Launches the Thi

Qatar Charity has launched the third round of "Competitors" weekly radio program, which is produced in partnership with Qatar Holy Quran Radio and the participation of universities, colleges and academies students in Qatar. Aljazeera Café in the Cultural District “Katara” hosted the celebration to announce the beginning of the third round of the competition between Aspire Academy Team and the Leaders Academy Team. Moreover, both the Community College Team and the College of the North Atlantic Team, who competed in the second round, and succeeded in building three schools for Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and 9 hospitals and health facilities in Kyrgyzstan, were also honored during the ceremony.

Mr. Nayef Al-Shammari, Head of Leaders Academy Team, said that they decided to participate in the third round of Competitors Program sponsored by Qatar Charity (International Charity Organization) after making sure of the nobility of the competition’s goal, noting that the Leaders Academy Team came to compete in the competition relying on the confidence of participating students.

Excellent experience and skill

Dr. Ali Ayoub, Head of Aspire Academy Team, said that Aspire Academy students are pioneers in leadership field as they learnt a lot from the true Islamic values and the Aspire Academy values which are based on respect and responsibility. Competitors Program will constitute an incentive to our students whom we expect to win in the competition due to their excellent experience and skill.

Enriching experience

On the occasion of winning the first place, Mr. Munadi Alka’bi, Head of Community College Team, said that the most important thing achieved by the team is participating in the charity work field. Alka’bi pointed out that winning the first place is not as important as providing education to 1500 students of our Syrian brothers through building three schools in Lebanon. That is the true winning!

Alka’bi added that participation in this competition had a good impact on the team and added a lot to their knowledge.

Distinguishing mark

Mr. Abdul Rahman Saleh Alashqar, Head of the College team of the North Atlantic, congratulated the winning team, pointing out that the College team of the North Atlantic fought in a fair competition with a noble goal. Although it came in the second place but still achieved the desired goal including marketing for building seven hospitals in Kyrgyzstan, which became nine hospitals later, thanks to the great efforts of the team. We left a distinguished mark, which could be seen through the broad smiles on the children’s and adults’ faces.

A Striking Success of the Fift

Amidst wide participation of schools, parents of students, and the program's sponsors and participants, Qatar Charity has concluded the fifth version of "the National Program to Reinforce a Code of Values" this morning.

On this occasion, Qatar Charity (Leading Charity Organization) organized a big ceremony in the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara. Many sections were presented by the students during the ceremony demonstrating their extraordinary and creative capacities. The ceremony started with a recitation from the Holy Quran. This was followed by the national anthem, introductory film, a chant and a theatre performance. In addition, the sponsors of the program delivered speeches.

An Indescribable Feeling

"Qatar Charity is indeed proud of the successful organization of the fifth version of "the National Program to Reinforce a Code of Values" that had a considerable interaction from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Qatari schools in various regions," said Dr. Ali Ateeq Al-abdullah, QC's Executive Director of Local Development.

He added, "QC aims at activating value-based education in the community” through the program, which will mainly target schools through “integrated and engaging educational and cultural content and by using creative and motivating methods for students” to enable them to constructively interact with their teachers and peers and to foster the value of respect of teachers, which is the main objective of the fifth version. 81 schools from various Qatari regions participated in the program and the number of participants amounted to 140 participants.

In this regard, Al-Abdullah affirmed the obligation of all parties to play a role in rehabilitating and raising the awareness of young people to help them shoulder the responsibilities and burdens of life. He extended his deepest thanks to the program's sponsors including the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), Qur’an Kareem Radio and Tarbeya Centre for Future Leaders as well as teachers, supervisors and parents for the great efforts made to achieve the program's desired goal.

A Brilliant Program

Mr. Tawfiq Osama, the supervisor of "How's Your Morning Going " radio program, stated that Qur’an Kareem Radio is proud to have been a partner of Qatar Charity in this program, especially this version that focused on the value of respect for the teacher. He mentioned that Qur’an Kareem Radio broadcasted radio programs about the reinforcement of code of values, especially "How's Your Morning Going” radio programme that invited schools to participate in the program before, during the launch and before the closing ceremony.

Simulating Real -World Schools

In his turn, the Executive Director of Tarbeya Centre for Future Leaders, Mr. Shawkat Taha, thanked Qatar Charity for successfully organizing the fifth version of the program. He stated that the program contributed to promoting the prestige of the teacher and his respect as well as the successful attainment of the “listening-to-teachers” value in classes, which is a major pillar in the educational process. "The fifth version truly simulated the real-world schools' experience and “positively and substantially” contributed to changing the behavior of students and improving the educational outputs. We are looking forward to witness to the success of the sixth vision of the program next year," said Mr. Taha.

Theatre Award

The winning schools in the various contests were announced. Three schools won the theatre award, respectively: Saud bin Abdul-Rahman Model School for Boys, which won the first place award, followed by Al Shahanyea Model Boys School, and the West Gulf Model School for Boys.

The drawing awards went to Al-Zaa'een Independent Primary School for Girls, Moza Bint Mohammed Girls Elementary School and Nusseibah Bint Ka'b Primary School for Girls.

Drawing

In the field of drawing, Al Shahanyea Model Boys School won the first place award, followed by Al Ikhlas Independant Model School for Boys and Al Shorouq Model Independent School for Boys. Regarding schools for girls, Al-Khansa Model Independent School for Girls won the first place award followed by Maimoona Primary Independent School for Girls and Al Shifa bint Abdul Rahman Independent School for Girls.

Short Story

Short story awards went to Aljazeera Academy for Boys, followed by Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Preparatory School for Boys and Al Andalus Preparatory School for Boys. The Modern English School for girls won the first place award, followed by Al Wajba Preparatory Independent School for Girls and Al Maha Academy.

YouTube Movies

In the field of YouTube movies, Ibn Khaldoun Preparatory School for Boys won the first place award, followed by Al Andalus School. However, the jury decided not to make an Award for the third place. In addition, Al-Zaa'een Preparatory School for Girls won the first place award, followed by Moza Bint Mohammed Preparatory School for Girls and Amna Bint Wahab Preparatory School for Girls.

The winning schools were: respectively, Aljazeera Academy for Boys and Al Maha Academy. However, the jury decided not to make an Award for the third place. In the field of modern technology, Musab bin Omair Independent Secondary School for Boys won the first place award, followed by Aljazeera Academy and Al Wakra Independent Secondary School for Boys. Competing with male students for Instagram videos award, Al-Karana Secondary School for Girls won the first place award, followed by Arwa Bint Abdul Muttalib Secondary School for Girls and Alshamal Secondary School for Girls.

Behavior Modification

Five schools competed for the "Behavior Modification" awards. Al Thakhia Primary School for Girls won the first place award, followed by Al Maha Academy, Amna Bint Wahab Preparatory School for Girls, Arabian Gulf Model School for Boys and Al Shaimaa Secondary School for Girls.

The Value-Reinforcement School

The value-reinforcement school awards went to Ibn Khaldoun Preparatory School for Boys, Al-Khansaa Primary School for Girls, Abu Hanifa Model School for Boys, Ruqaya Preparatory School for Girls, Al-Maha Academy for Girls, and Imam Shafi'i Preparatory School for Boys.

Value-Based Initiative

Al-Maha Academy won the first place award for the value-based initiative, followed by Arwa Secondary School for Girls, Aljazeera Academy and Al-Kon International Academy.

Value Reinforcement Student Councils

Ibn Khaldoun Preparatory School for Boys won the first place award for Value Reinforcement Student Councils, followed by the Imam Shafi'i Preparatory School for Boys.
