Al-Ahli Visits Keneya to Contest in QC’s “Competitors2”

A delegation from the Al Ahli Sports Club Team, contesting in Qatar Charity’s “Competitors 2” Program, visited Kenya to know about the nature and location of the developmental project, which is intended to be implemented in the country.

The team's visit to Kenya has resulted in determining the type and location of the project, which includes building a health center, drilling an artesian well, and sponsoring 100 orphans and 100 People with Special Needs.

The project will be implemented in the outskirts of the capital Nairobi at a total cost of about 1.7 million riyals, due to the need of the people for such projects in these places, according to the field assessment.

The visit was organized in the context of the competition with Al Wakrah Sports Team, which recently visited Indonesia and then started marketing its project to build a school with 6 classrooms and 25 houses at a cost of at a cost of 1.5 million riyals, with the aim to benefit 1,250 people.

The delegation included the President of Al Ahli Sports Club Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Thani, Ali Al-Kuwari, Captain Abdullah Jassim, Captain Abdullah Saad, Captain Nasser Salimin, and Ibrahim Fetian from the QC’s Media Department.

Field Tours

The Al-Ahli Sports Club’s delegation began the tours with a visit to the Qatar Charity’s Regional Office in Nairobi and came to know the activities and achievements of the office.

The delegation also participated in the opening of Al Habib Mosque built by Qatar Charity in the Njiru district of Nairobi, where the imam delivered a speech, in which he thanked the people of Qatar.

On this occasion, a member of the delegation, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sada talked about the role of the mosque and its importance as a beacon of the knowledge.

The delegation took part in the distribution of food baskets (consisting of rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil and baby milk) to 167 poor and needy families in the district of Njiru.

The delegation presented valuable gifts to some Orphans Sponsored by Qatar Charity in order to bring joy to their hearts, in addition to distributing food baskets to orphans.

On his impressions of the visit, Sheikh Abdullah Al Sada, said that the visit was successful by all standards, pointing out the Al Ahli Sports Club Team undertook to build a mosque and a school outside the competition, in addition to the club's commitment to marketing its project within the framework of the competition.

Third Round

Ahmed Al Ali, Assistant Executive Director of the Executive Management of Media and Communication and Program Supervisor revealed that the third round of the “Competitors2” Program will be held between new contestants, noting that the announcement of the winner team will be made before the holy month of Ramadan.

At the end of 2017, Qatar Charity launched the second season of the “Competitors” Program, which gives opportunities to various community institutions to participate in the charitable, humanitarian and developmental work as well as in creative community marketing with new, innovative, interesting and loving ways.
