Qatar Charity distributes winter essentials to workers in Katara

Qatar Charity distributed winter bags to workers at the Katara 10th Traditional Dhow Festival, as part of its continued “Warmth and Peace” campaign. The bags contain the winter essentials like warm clothes and jackets.

Jassim Muhammad Al-Emadi, Director of Programs and Community Development Department, said that the distribution of winter bags to workers come as part of close attention paid by Qatar Charity to low-income persons. He added that Qatar Charity organizes several cultural, health, and sports activities for low-income people and workers, noting that it seeks to meet their essential winter needs.

Al-Emadi pointed out that Qatar Charity is keen to serve all the sections of society, including workers, and this project comes as social solidarity with them and an appreciation to their works, as they work in very cold weather during winter, especially in the early morning and late night.

Mr. Jihad Al-Jaida, a member of the organizing committee of the Katara 10th Traditional Dhow Festival, thanked Qatar Charity for this humanitarian initiative, considering that meeting the basic needs of workers and supporting them is one of their rights that must be upheld. He added that this initiative by Qatar Charity reflects the closeness and solidarity of all sections of society with each other.

Besides, medical examinations and health awareness-raising sessions will be held for workers, who will also receive medical guidance on winter diseases, how to prevent diseases, and the importance of drinking water in winter, in addition to educating them on how to prevent the coronavirus.  

Furthermore, health supplies and water bottles will be distributed to workers, in addition to brochures in Asian languages to educate them on the importance of drinking water in winter and how to prevent winter diseases.
